Yes, make it easier. The reward from old content does not justify the effort.
He doesn't mind us conducting trials so close to his bazaar, so long as he's properly compensated... Yes, Portus, we pay him in sorcery-blasted bird flesh. - Cocobygo

No, it's ok to nerf older content to help players catch up. It's all well and good to say "it was tougher when we did it!" but a new player doing the content nowadays, if the content is not made easier, will have an even HARDER experience due to a lack of players willing to participate. If the fights are a major chore to go through, and are older content and thus don't drop high end gear, who's going to want to go back to help them? They would literally only have the people at the same level of progression to choose amongst when it comes to finding party members, which means long times spent looking for a party, as well as a lack of players who've done the research and learned the fight, as those players would quickly move on upon beating it.
This thread is pointless to be honest... Just my opinion.
I'm far from eccentric, I'm so psychotic...

Nerfing old content is nothing but a placebo effect. Unskilled players will eventually make through it and then will find a harsher challenger after. Nerfing old content also decrease the lifespam of the game, because by nerfing old content when adding new you're not, in fact, adding ... you're simply replacing. If you stop to think, by this logic, you won't ever have a lot of content. People always claim they don't do it for the carrot, but take away the carrot and they will say the reward don't justify the difficulty. Even the idea of a catch up is just a lie people are telling themselves. By finishing nerfed content or getting easy gear you're not catching up, because you didn't reach the necessary skill level of the previous group of players that finish the content when it was on normal difficulty, you're still behind and you won't see any current content simply because you don't know how to finish it. So, yes, I' against nerfing old content and I wish companies could stop doing that. They should add content and let people enjoy it all.

Some people must need dungeon nerfs or they wouldn't be adjusting them. I remember people quitting certain dungeons that are too hard for them when roulette didn't work in their favor. Personally I rather things be too easy than hard enough to be a roadblock to casual players.

Dungeons that got nerfed:
Amdapor Keep
Pharos Sirius (deemed to be tuned too high originally)
Raids that got nerfed:
Binding Coil of Bahamut (I only recall ADS being nerfed for coil)
Trials that got nerfed:
Thornmarch HM (deemed to be tuned too high originally)
I'm not sure what the OP is referring to, but that's not a particularly long list.
Echo boost is something different from nerfing and only applies to trials and Coil.

Old content isn't being nerfed. Item levels are rapidly being ramped upwards which means even if you aren't overgeared, 3 players who are will appear in DF and carry you...
video games are bad

And in terms of being nerfed, the only thing on that list that truly got nerfed is Amdapor Keep. Where 10 levels got taken off all the monsters, the drops were made irrelevant, the rewards were made irrelevant, bosses were missing half their mechanics and groups of monsters simply disappeared entirely.
The others got a slight modification in difficulty by giving you a little more HP and a little more damage output if you fail a bunch of times, nothing a few pieces of gear wouldnt have done as well. It's more of a way for people who got left behind to play on the same level as those we kept up.
And that's exactly it. They're making it so that people who are newer to the game than you have the same chance of participating in the newer content instead of just the group that spammed it every single day for the past 6 months, by making you *gasp* go through older and irrelevant content quicker.
I dont see how anyone can truly be upset about people being able to clear Coil 1 slightly easier than before and get upset about them getting i90 gear that no one even cares for anymore. It still takes plenty of effort.
No, youre wrong. The list Nekodar gave IS a list of nerfed dungeons, not Echo Buff. All of above got mechanics and monsters changed/removed, not only Amador Keep. And in terms of being nerfed, the only thing on that list that truly got nerfed is Amdapor Keep.
