    LL - Regarding zodiac weapons

In the 2.28 patch notes it reads:

    * After completing the relic weapon novus, its parameters cannot be altered. However, the ability to acquire another sphere scroll and redo the upgrade process is scheduled for a future update.
However, in the Live Letter XVII...

Q28: With the Novus version of the Zodiac Weapon, we are able to attach a desired set of stats to the weapon. Will the stats ever be reset in the future when they are upgraded?

A28: No, the stats will not be reset.
I'm kinda lost here, did they scrap the idea of letting us reset our Novus stats? Or is A28 talking about us being unable to reset stats again after we upgrade it to "Grindus"?

    ---------------------------------------------

    The second is...

Q25: When are you planning to add the next step in the Zodiac Weapon storyline? Also, what’s the item level of the next upgrade?

A25: While I cannot go into the item level just yet, I can say that the next step in the storyline will be added in patch 2.38!
Isn't it a bit too soon to replace Novus? I mean we don't even have third coil yet.

What do you guys think would be the ilvl of the relic "Grindus"?

NVM about this, there's another thread http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...update-in-2.38.

I took the question to mean, "Will the upgrading process itself reset the Novus stat allotment?" and not "Will we ever be able to reset the stats?".

A bit of lost in translation here. What they meant is that the stats you boosted in novus will carry over to the next step.

The whole point was to reassure players who are currently dropping 10-15mil into their Novus weapons that the stats from Novus won't get completely thrown out the window the next update. Essentially Yoshi confirmed that the stats would carry-over. Otherwise - there would be no point to optimizing the Novus weapon if the stats weren't going to carry-over.

I read it pretty clearly. You are going to be able to reset the novus and start over from scratch (that's how I read it) and also when you upgrade your Novus to Grindus the stats will carry over.

The way I read it - when the next part of the relic quest comes out the stat choices you made will still be taken into account. Though I'd imagine that there will still be some kind of reallocation option.

The question 25 answer was VERY surprising though. I'm wondering if they are simply referring to a bit of storyline (exposition) rather than actual upgrade. They've made it very clear in the past that the strongest weapon in the game should come from the last turn of current coil, with relic 2nd best.

Don't get me wrong - I'm eager to get to the next step. But something doesn't quite add up here.

I don't think its an issue when 2.4 comes out a less than a month after 2.38 anyways.

You may not, doesn't mean others feel the same.
