Given the way it works I'm really curious how they're going to unlock them... they'll all be useless on their own so giving them once every 5 levels with job quests would be pointless.

Wouldn't be the first time, you get Impulse Drive long before it's ever even remotely practical to use in combat for DRG.
For the record, as long as the target is stationary and you don't have Full Thrust, which is the third attack in the standard chain (which you don't get until level 26(!)), Impulse Drive remains the highest DPS move available to lancers in group PvE. After that, it then becomes useless until you get Disembowel at level 38.
wow. that looks really cool. thank you for sharing the video!

Not exactly. All mudra combos dont have to use all 3. As such, getting one every 5 levels makes sense. You hit 30, get 1 mudra, and are able to do the 1- mudra move. The giant water spout used 3 mudras while the (uchiha) fireball spit took just 2. The activator does seem useless without mudras so its probably obtained with the first mudra.

Looking real sharp... gonna be interestign to see what I can do with macros regarding the chained skill useage...

That's not how version numbering works. The number on the left is a major version, the number on the right is a minor. Expansions are large updates to the game, which causes the left to increment. Patches are smaller updates, which increments the right.
The version after 2.9 (if it went that far) would be 1.10, then 1.11 etc, not 3.0.
