I hope they bring in the concept of card queen or card master and having different rules for Limsa, Uldah and Gridinia. Make the rules able to be changed if enough players play in a zone. And make some super rare cards that drop from world bosses or dungeons!

I definitely hope you lose a card(s) when you lose a match. That would make the card game more exciting, IMO.
Nice!
I liked more Tetra Master, but Triple Triad was nice, too!
Where did you hear the news?

I kinda feel like being able to lose cards - while an interesting mechanic - would just discourage people from using their 'good' cards, or possibly even playing at all.

They could have different card rules so players can choose before the start of each match if they want to play for an opponent's card or if its more like a friendly match where you don't win or lose any cards. I would definitely play for cards though, makes it more thrilling and exciting.

Thats the whole point in the card game. If you played FFVIII and you used a Squall card, if you lost it and didnt have the cards to get it back...its gone forever.
Also since this is a MMO, there would be a endless amount of cards, even if some are rare there will more than ONE.
If you can't lose your cards then there isn't the challenge and its just a collecting sidegame.

I'm pretty sure in FFVIII you could rechallenge the npc and get your card back, either at that moment or coming back later when you have better cards.Thats the whole point in the card game. If you played FFVIII and you used a Squall card, if you lost it and didnt have the cards to get it back...its gone forever.

Not only that but you could even mod the cards and then win them back again in disc 4.
I like that they're basing the card game on Triple Triad and not Tetra Master. Hated the randomness in that one.
