Any tips for a White Mage on Frontlines?
Any tips for a White Mage on Frontlines?
Are you playing by yourself or with a friend? The advice would vary but if you search through the forums, you have a number of options on tips to play decently.
The simple things you should remember is to always keep Divine Seal Medica and Regen on your team by using Surecast.
If you are suddenly being attacked by the entire enemy team, you could attune - but if you are confident you can kite or have enough people help pull players off you, you can simply sprint or use Equanimity.
For quick defense to cast, you could swiftcast stoneskin.
You can also push silly melee away with fluid aura.
There are many more ways to work around situations as a WHM, but these are the most common!
even before thinking about skills, just simply be the absolute last person to engage. people tend to ignore you more if you're way in the back healing compared to being the first one on the point and blowing all your cooldowns to try and hold it.
Remember your PvP skills. Divine Seal + Medica II (surecasted or swiftcasted) and regen are the bulk of your healing. Use Equnimity after they dropped the CC on you, and spam out some heals. Holy can help you disengage from melee.
Once again: USE YOUR PVP SKILLS.
Another little tip, if u are near to a cliff and someone is coming Sleep + Fluid aura will kill him.
I don't lnow if it's my connection problem, but usually if I cast Fluid Aura without binding/sleeping the enemy usually he will be pushed back not in the right point.
WHM can do really a lot of things, try to watch what other do![]()
Does anyone have a good macro utilizing Surecast and Swiftcast?
Do you mean for it to use Surecast when available and if not use Swiftcast if on cd or vice versa? If so I've tried but haven't been able to get one to work; maybe someone else has. I don't like using Surecast in a macro tho because Surecast is an oxymoron in itself, I am not always "sure" it will cast XD as it can be removed by a stun or even if you move while casting. its just not reliable enough for me to trust putting it in a macro, i'd rather manually use it. as for Swiftcast I use this one for my pet. it swiftcasts my pet and if swiftcast is not available it will just regular long cast Eos and sets her to Obey; swap the Summon for "Summon II" for Selene. the same macro should work with anything you want to swiftcast. just remove the Summon and /pac stuff and adjust the times or delete the /waits as needed
/micon Summon
/ac Swiftcast
/wait 0.5
/ac Summon
/wait 1.5
/pac Obey

Yeah, one that would first do Surecast, then go into Swiftcast. Then you would manually push whatever skill(s) you wanted to use after the Sure/Swift was in effect.
/micon surecast
/ac Surecast <me>
/ac Swiftcast <me>
This will use Surecast first but if on cd will use Swiftcast then you can press manually what spell you want to use
