    Chocobo not changing color?

Last night before bed, I fed my chocobo 8 pears, hoping he would start turning green. I awoke to find that his color had not changed at all. He was still Desert Yellow.

I then fed him another pear (single) to see if maybe i did it wrong. 6 hours later, not a single change once again. Still Desert Yellow. What am I doing wrong?

Mine is not changing color either. Can only guess it needs dozens of fruits to even go up one notch on the color scale.

You need to feed your Chocobo enough fruit that you get the message "[Chocobo's Name] is beginning to grow new feathers!" Every further appearance of that message will be the chocobo changing to a different color.

I see. So feeding it only 9 fruit was just a waste? I'll just stick to selling the fruit then. I'd rather make gil over having a different chocobo. I thought I could get away with feeding just a handful, and selling the rest.
