    Monk Weapon Suggestion

    Some of the Classes have alternate weapon types.
    For example Thaumaturge use Scepters or Rods

    I was thinking "it would be really neat if they added alternate weapon types to the other classes." For example, form fitting glove style weapons for monk
    Like what Tifa or the Giant Luggers of Coethas use.

    What do you all think of this random suggestion? If you were to think of an alternate weapon
    type for current classes what would you come up with?
    (for example two handed swords for Paladin with high Parry?)

    I really wouldn't want more alternate weapons, I get shields since they effect they way to play the game. But even those have a X shield type is best. Also the difference between Scepters and Rods is just "Oh boy I have to farm two pieces of gear instead of one!" which is bad enough with Paladin.

    I'm not against them adding more weapon models just please don't make them do different things, especially since you're limited to what high end items are available. We also don't need 3 different types of bow dropping either diluting the loot pools even more, plus you'll only end up using the one that's BiS anyway.

    I think technically MNK have several types of weapons. Hora, Himates, Baghnakhs, Patas, Cesti, Knuckels, Jamadhars, and even some claws, talons, and hooks! That said, some lower profile weapons would be nice to have.

    Monk weapons are seriously odd anyway, your character has to hold them with a closed fist, they're mighty unwieldy looking. Would have been cooler and more practical if the weapons slotted over your hands like a glove like how the Giant Luggers are using them.
    Instead of different weapons I've love to see a change to how characters hold them.

    Yeah I'd really like it if the weapon system was more like XI, where most jobs could use all sorts of different types of weapons even if there is one weapon that's best for them to use. Weapon skills and weapon skill level should be brought back too, but plebs will say "THIS ISN'T FFXI, THEREFORE THIS GAME CANT TAKE ANY OF THE GOOD ASPECTS FROM FFXI, FFXI TOTALLY WASN'T BETTER THAN WHAT THIS GAME!!!!!!"

    They probably could, but they wouldn't be any different from the fist weapons PGL/MNK currently use, except for maybe covering your currently-equipped hand-slot gear.

    As for the whole multiple weapon types per class thing, I'm not a fan of it, since it could limit any future classes that come out into weapon types the developers may not want them to have. I don't even like how CNJ and THM have both one and two-handed weapons; I hope that SE takes the one-handed casting weapons away from them, so they can be made available for any future magic classes (similar to how SE took daggers away from GLD and are giving them to Rogue).
