I'm putting accuracy on my Spharai and I doubt SMN is too different. Mostly I'm just used to having accuracy on my weapon anyway (normal stats are accuracy and skill speed) so I'd have an accuracy deficit without it and you can make up for the other stats on gear in exactly the same manner people tell you to make up for accuracy on gear. It makes absolutely no difference at all as long as your total accuracy doesn't exceed the cap (by much) and you don't have a lot of unwanted skill/ spell speed. Contrary to popular opinion, it's not very likely that max DET and CRIT is BiS for any class.

The only reason to do that is because that is the most potential damage you can put on the weapon without considering the contributions of armor at all. If you were seriously trying to min/max considering only i110 gear (no HA weapon and no consideration for future gear) it would probably be best to try to maximize the stats you want, minimize the ones you don't want, and end up very near but slightly under the accuracy cap from your armor. Then on your Novus meld exactly the amount of accuracy to take you to the cap and fill in the rest with crit/det.

EDIT: Similarly, you can take your accuracy to the accuracy cap minus food contribution so you'd be exactly capped in Coil with food. If you take it to the accuracy cap without food you can just use crit/det food now and accuracy food with the same gear when new content with a higher acc. cap is released.
