Animus Book FATE requirement pretty silly

I"m not mad but i want to say i think its pretty ridiculous how the credit system works in relation to the Animus books.

While doing the FATE The Big Bagoly Theory for the Animus book Skyearth I I claimed the mob (its a single boss FATE) and for about 20% of the health i was attacking normally, but saw a /shout for us to stop attacking the mob so someone else could get credit also. I stopped attacking and was auto-attacking off and on until the person showed up.

Once they showed up me and the other people continued to attack, once the FATE completed i only got silver and most importantly i did not get credit for the kill in my log.

If the FATE completes, even if you get bronze i feel you should get credit for the FATE if youre alive, (which i was alive) this is pretty silly that they expect you to get gold on the FATE for the animus book.

In my opinion the only requirements to obtain credit on an Animus FATE should be:

    1. Perform any action and gain at least bronze or better.
    2. Be alive (so its the same for a dungeon)
    3. The FATE actually "Complete"

I feel if you do those three you should get credit in your animus book.

Not to try to outdo you, but (there's always one of these, right?) I drop into Stone Vigil for one of my Thyrus books. Get to the end, and I'm killed at the last hit the boss does before it goes down. I didn't get credit! I had to do it again! Next time, I healed myself above the tank.

Sigh, these books are worse than the ATMA grind IMO, especially for casual players it takes so long to get into the dungeons (I am dps) and waiting on those Fates, BLEH.

wait, you took it down by 20% yourself, and didn't get a gold? that sounds broken to me..i did less than 20% on my bagoly fate and got gold.
I ended up soloing it one time (ok, had my bird too) i kind of want it to tell you what your medal will be if it complete to avoid that situation.
i'm sure everyone will say "then everyone would stop at gold", and that might be, but if they all stop, it fails and they lose out. But still, odd.

I claimed the mob, but there were two other people there. A tank and a SCH. The tank stopped attacking to wait for the new person to show up but the SCH did not. I was the only person not to get full credit, the new person even did. Infact the second time the FATE popped there was ANOTHER late person and we waited for them i made sure to dps nearly the entire time and the mob fell to 11% before the new person showed up and we all left the mob alone and the person who showed up at 11% got full credit whereas i didnt my first time having claimed the mob and dealing normal dps for 20% and then auto attacking.... very backwards imo.

This makes a little more sense. In theory the boss beat you but not the party. The difference between my and your example is you died, and didnt get credit, but i claimed the mob, dealt damage as a sch, changed to auto attack after it fell 20% (at 80% i stopped) and then did random auto attacks here and there and got no credit. (Except the seals and gil for getting silver.)

Yeah, I got a couple of those as well. Didn't know I had to get a Gold. They really should explain that, but I wish my learning hadn't happened on Giant Seps. We all know that fate pops all of the time... NOT...

Some of these FATES have ridiculous wait times too. Taste of Fear(Croc in Coerthas, White Brim) I remember sitting there crafting for a few hours without seeing it pop. Now that they have removed the reward from B rank hunts . . . I don't think it would be that bad of a change to switch it to kill these three B rank hunts. People only need any given target once per week. They have a rapid spawn rate (perhaps a bit too fast for use with Zodiac trials) and slight competition. I would be really curious to see the up time on various B rank monsters since these recent changes. On average if its more than 10 minutes of it just wandering around not being murdered, changing the zodiac trial FATES to Hunts would be a good step imo.

I am not up to that stage of upgrading my weapon yet but when I do get to it I have no intention of stopping attacking just because someone else says so. I would be there for the same reason and I will not risk losing out on all the effort I put into it by that stage just because someone tells me to do so. If I have to work hard to earn it so should they and it's not like they can never do it again, it will respawn. It might come across as mean but I don't see why I should suffer and lose out just because someone was late or did not put in as much time and effort as myself and it's not like I am there to ruin their day, I am there for the same reason they are only I would of put in the effort to earn the reward. Maybe Squeenix can come up with better solution and I hope they do but until that time I will not risk losing out just because some random person tells me to do so.

Yeah I'm sorry, but if I've been camping a spot for 2 hours waiting for a Fate to spawn, I'm stopping for no one.
