    Who else likes the new archer gameplay of 1.18?

    Hi there, i did read so many complains about so many different things after the update... i could barely understand them (only because 100 people go left this doesn't mean i can not go to the right). There were people complaining about one or two skills with longer cooldowns and some others complaining about every group now only demanding archers.


    The crazy thing about this all, mostly only unhappy people post in forums, the happy ones are playing and enjoying not feeling urged to post in any forums.

    But i want to see a positive thing here, so i go first:


    I really liked archer from beginning but i didn't like the idea of playing archer more than another job, the patch 1.18 somehow made archer feeling more unique, i have more damage output and it feels more smooth to play, many skills you can do faster and easier now. For example wide volley you can now nearly back to back. Or now it is fine to just throw a trifucate in your attacks because it doesn't destroy your stamina anymore. There is always a weaponskill up to use.

    But maybe this isn't for everyone, my "playstyle" just suits the new archer more than the stamina one.

    Barrage using longer cooldown now. Thank god for it because the game changed, we have a more difficulty enmity system now, harder bosses to face, less room to cure everyone. Therefor it would really be bad if archers could spam barrage because this skill draws extra enmity and would destroy the group flow of: tank < mob < DD/healers. If you could spam barrage it would be more like tank > mob > archer < healer > rest of damaged people because the mob turns and aoe.


    So yea, for me it was a great step.

    anyone else like it?


    And please, of course everyone can post his oppinion, also if you don't like it and have another view on things than me, but please consider using one of the other "rant about everything"-posts here, there are more than enough of em. This one should be taken positive.

    It's a solid system. It works how it should have worked starting out. My only issue is the punching animation seems a bit weird. I was hoping they would have added more than just one punch, and it looked a little more fluent.


    Other than that, it's great.

    I like this new system, and while the normal attack is under the cooldown i can trifurcate a second arrow for the next fire, so it's still good to me.

    I like too. Is just the same way than prepatch. But now is nce to think a little and use nicely he WS, not only spam multishot.

    BTW i had a sorprise whit the autoattk whit his "barely hands" is great. Still decent dmg as long arrows are kickasses.

    yeah. the new attack system surprised me. At first i thought the loss of multishot would be significant but while we cant frontload all our damage in the opening shot, because of the removal of stamina I could be constantly using abilities instead of waiting on stamina to refill.

    So I do like it more. And with fleet of foot from lancer. I basically run around in active mode stacking multishots and more often than not, i'll be able to stack 3 arrows just in time to position myself to attack the mob.

    Oh yea Imagene, you remind me of the mix of fleet of foot and our "flee" skill which now works awesome because we not switch into active mode when activate it.

    For the normal shot i think they know the CD that is shown might not be true, as i understood it you can activate it ealier than the timer shows it. If it is this way then its even nicer.

    I like the changes, although I am still a lowly rank =P

    Although I have got to say (maybe not just relevant to archer), I keep pressing to use abilities and it comes up "Cannot be used at this time" even though it has fully recharged and I press again and again until I wait for 2s then press it and it works. Incredibly frustrating when I have saved up 2000TP for quick-nock and need to lay down damage ASAP to take hate off my friend.

    Other than that, I am slowly adjusting to a less spamtastic play style with new enmity system but hurrah for archers in this update indeed.

    It was my favorite battle class pre-update and it is my favorite battle class post-update. 1.18 was a good change for archers.

    yea 1.18 is good stuff.

    few tweaks and adjustments and the battle system will be fairly good i think. Especially with the addition of jobs.
