I never really realized just how much of a nightmare this FATE was until I hit 50. Frankly, Odin and the Hunts are kind of panic-inducing, and given Odin's exceptionally-long respawn, coupled with the unpredictability of said spawn, and throwing in the added issue of players being able to kill him quite quickly now, just leads to what seems to be an impossible situation.
For example, the other day I was in the Shroud when he spawned. Since nobody would say where he was, I had to port to several locations before finding him. By the time I actually made my way there, he'd already been killed. Keeping in mind, that was me *already being alerted* to him spawning, and I still couldn't make it. What chance does someone have if they aren't already there at the exact moment of his spawn?
Now, I'm not suggesting anything specific. I'm just saying, this *kind of* seems like an issue. And who knows, maybe it isn't to most players; it just feels that way to me. But even if it is, there are a number of ways it could be handled. I like the unpredictability of when and where he might spawn, but maybe give just *some* kind of idea to players. Like, "he will always spawn over the weekend, in addition to his otherwise-random pattern". Or maybe he'll always spawn somewhere between 6pm-10pm, but the given time and day remains random.
As it stands now, I sort of feel like I have to carry a laptop around and always been logged into the game, and always checking, and when I don't, I have to really ask around if he *did* spawn, and if so, give up the hunt for at least a couple of days.
In doing so, though, maybe add another couple of rewards to use the Odin's Mantles on? I can't imagine the patience (or sheer luck) for those who've already collected his rewards, so perhaps could actually attain Sleipnir (sp?) itself, instead of just the Chocobo Barding?
