Quick Chocobo Dying Question

Just a quick question for you fine folks, in order to dye your chocobo, do you need to be a member of a free company with a FC House?

If so, that pretty much blows for us FC's who haven't been able to obtain one of those yet (especially since no wards on Balmung seem to have openings any longer).

It requires a chocobo stables and a garden to grow the food (though you can buy grown food from the market board, you still need a stable to feed it).

I've just recently returned to the game, so I'm not familiar with all the in's & out's of what is available at this point. I understand how it works in theory, but is there access to chocobo stables outside of FC housing?

Not at this point. Personal Housing is slotted for Patch 2.4 which should be here in 2-3 months. With all the things that are currently FC members only, I hope the expand it to personal housing as well. People who change FC's will also be punished (lose a 300K room!)

I've been putting stuff in my FC Personal Room - but I'm not going all out or crazy until Personal Housing is released.

Not yet sadly, but they said in the future they will add These functions to the gc stables

As far as I know Yoshi said in an Interview that personal housing will come 2.38 which should bein 1-1,5 months (<-time is purly assumed by me they did not state a date yet, as far as I know)

Thanks everyone. A shame that everything is locked behind Free Company housing when that housing is, from what I can see, rather unobtainable by Free Companies recently established. Regardless of gil saved, there just aren't enough wards to allow access to everyone and being that there is no removal of dead FC's from these wards (that I'm aware of), it sucks for those of us who are up and coming and cannot access these features.

I hope they do add these features to personal housing and grand companies, but I sure do feel a bit put out. It is what it is. I'm looking forward to personal housing and hoping that in time, they'll allow for more free company wards as well!

I believe in one of the live letters they said that stuff like chocobo training will be added to the chocobo porters. I don't know when that will be but it has been mentioned.
