PS4 Versus PC

Ok, not sure if this is the right forum but thought I would share some feedback with others that maybe wanting to get a PS4 that currently play on a PC.

Right off the bat a few problems. If you want to play on a PS4 with a keyboard like a PC, you will hate it. Seems PS4 is plagued with Keyboard and high delay problems. You will notice right away that going from a PC to a PlayStation will throw off your timings. Everything done from the keyboard including typing is delayed by a 1/4 second which is annoying. Controller seems to be fine. Sony support says they don't have formally certified keyboards and some delay is expected during play.

In terms of graphics quality compared to PC. Same. I am running a AMD Radeon HD 7900 single card (which is old now) and no difference in quality of the game during normal play. However when you go into CT for example and start fighting KB, the PC is far more smoother. The screen is choppy on the PS4. It cant seem to handle too much going on. And before you ask, its not lag from the internet. Had 2 accounts logged into same fight. PC was fine, PS4 choppy. My bandwidth is 50MB Down and 15MB up just in case your thinking that.

So problems so far with PS4 compared to PC:
1. Lag in keyboard response
2. Choppy graphics when in battles with large number of players in area.
3. Slower Load Times compared to PC (Probably HDD in PS4 versus SSD in PC)

Good thing about PS4 is its smaller than the PC and generates far less heat so far. But it does crank up the fan which is loud but the TV sound overpowers that.

Will keep playing to see what else there is.

...I can tell you that load times on a PS4 with an SSD are noticeably faster than my PC which is also equipped with a SSD.

Darn right about the keyboard, though. The delay is so bad it causes me to screw up typing my password when logging in unless I type it r e a l s l o w.

Did you upgrade and put a SSD in there? That would be nice if possible.

Yes, I did. It's very easy to swap out the hard drive in a PS4. Sony did a great job in that aspect of the console's design.

PS4 is meant to be played with a controller, you cannot expect the same flexibility, otherwise you'll be disappointed sooner or later.

This is not exactly a fair comparison, I've put a hybrid HDD in my PS4 and I can barely tell a difference (maybe a second slower) when switching areas compared to my PC with a SSD. It will also help with loading needed assets faster during fights.

This is really undeniable. But the fact is there are just so many people during things like Odin, Behemoth and S ranks that I wouldn't be surprised if a PC will get choppy, too.. And that doesn't bother me because the choppiness is only exclusive to these specific conditions. I don't find any issue in CT or ST on my PS4 but that's just me and who knows maybe I don't notice anything.

The keyboard issue is also correct. I never noticed it but I do get the slow response. It's something I've gotten used to.
