10th Stage Finished.

Started as Royal Blue, fed 51 Berries in an attempt to hit another color. That was not successful, so I switched to Pears. It took 6 Pears to get a new feathers message. The result was Storm Blue.

Onward with Pears for now. Going to start #11.

My First Post with everything recorded in it.

Edit: Ramblings, cause I need to get it out. Doesn't make sense that I even started hitting blues this early, really shouldn't have hit these blues at all. Thought I would have gotten darker purples and start getting into maybe browns or greys once I started pears. If I start going down the Othard > Peacock > Turquise line to greens, somethings going to be majorly strange.

Anyone have a idea how to get from Dalamud Red to Soot Black

I guess you could say I'm working on that. But no, we don't know YET. Give it a few days, someone might have something. It probably won't be a quick thing like Snow White.

So from Marsh Green I got drunk and feed my choco 2berries each proced then 1 apple and it also proced to give me Ink Blue. I was then convinced by a friend to try and do Kobold Brown via 1 pineapple then try and get soot... I fed my Bucephalus who was Ink Blue 1 pineapple and it proced on the first feed and he became soot black. Thank you RNG? confused but happy since now my Bucephalus is the same color as Alexander the Greats horse Bucephalus!

mmm that is mainly my diagram that I posted. It does look much better than my paint version but could I get some credit for it cause I had worked on mine for days going through the info on multiple forums. Mine was posted on page 30, post #300.

Sure Gilgameshkun, but I didn't only use your data, it was just hard for me to remember everyones' name with having +25 tabs open of each interesting forums post.
The most info I used from yours was the green lines you had, you had observed them yourself which made it reliable, the rest just corresponded to what other people had said as well.
It just happened that we've gathered the same information, can't really help it if the that's the only info out there atm though. Obviously we'll end up with the same result if we use the same info. I started on page 1 btw and worked my way up, so I saw yours pretty late down the line, then it was more of confirming that what I had and what you had corresponded, which it did most of the time. Which is was obvious, since you did your homework just like me .


I don't mind adding your name to it, but don't just assume I did no research myself.

+ I'm a graphical designer, my job is to take peoples sketches/numbers and make them look more appealing .

Through mapping the colours this way the colour-tree for each type of fruit is becoming quite clear. You can then also see where you have to start feeding a different fruit type to get to where you want to be.

O'Ghomorro Berry colour tree:
Desert Yellow
Cork Brown

Thank you! That proves that Royal Blue is the last colour in line when using O'Ghomorro Berries.

Feed my Chocobo like this:

1. Session:
O'Ghomoro Berry x3, Valfruit x3

Chocobo = Cork Brown

2. Session:
Doman Plum x15, Cieldalaes Pineapple x6, Valfruit x12

Chocobo = Snow White

I feeded the fruites in a row 1 plum, than 1 pineaplle and so on. Didnt care about any messages but some messages poped up during the feed.

ATM its horrible that there is no clear system known and how to get the right color. There are two Spreedsheats with colorlists but no clear list with 100% use.

Didn't say you didnt do any research on your own, about 25% of my data could not be found on the forums since they were taken from game sources that did not post on forums and found it odd that your was posted shortly after mine. I would appreciate some kind of small credit at the bottom. Also here is new data i just updated it a min ago if you are going to continue with your chart since im sure it will change again. It does look amazing I'm sure you get paid well

There is NO 100% between steps. You can get something similar to a "HQ" which means you will skip 1 step in the colour-tree that you're currently in. You also -should- care about the messages since the 'beginning to grow new feathers!' message is the clear cut sign that your chocobo will change colour.
The amount of those message indicates the amount of times that your chocobo changed colour.

You are feeding your chocobo way too many fruits and are basically wasting your resources. Anything between 1 to 5 O'Ghomorro berries would've gotten you to Cork Brown since it is the first step in the O'Ghomorro Berry tree. So the 3 Valfruits were redundant.

It's now accepted that each new feather message doesn't count as 'additional fruit are being used' and you should go 1 fruit at a time if you want a specific color; get to the first feather message and stop. If your color is really far down the line, feel free to mass feed on the first session, but I'd do single feed adjustments after that.
