Unfortunately I have been feeding him again and again and after 14 pears the only message I am getting is "Ganymede devours the mamook pear." ... The guide does not suggest this is a wall but, at least for me, I do not seem to be seeing any more progress with pears.

You did hit a wall. Celeste Green is (151, 191, 191), and by feeding pears, you are doing -R+G-G, but there is no more in game color that has higher G value while the RB values goes down.

Here is what you need to feed in one feeding:

Thank you, I (incorrectly) assumed that because I had already been feeding him quite a few pears with no change that only apples would give me what I needed. Of course now I've overshot into Cactaur Green. But using your methods I now know that I shall try 8 × Plums, 9 × Valfruit, 11 × Pineapples. Thanks for your help!

I've become stuck after following one of the guides commonly seen online. It has worked quite well for me so far, and little by little I've been working towards "Apple Green" for my Chocobo. Unfortunately now that I'm apparently one step away (my Chocobo is Celeste Green), all I need to do is feed him Mamook Pears.

There are no more hints of color change or feather molting. The guide does not suggest this is a wall but, at least for me, I do not seem to be seeing any more progress with pears.

Any suggestions?

I got stuck on a Celeste Green/Apple Green loop for a week, during which I was able to go from Celeste Green to Apple Green with 1 apple and then a second time in a separate feeding with two pears and then a third time with four pears.

I think you just got unlucky, I've had to feed my bird up to 17 fruit for a proc.

So I thought I'd throw in my own experiments, been focusing on trying to see if I can get any other intense colors in the yellow and red area, going from Honey Yellow.

I managed to get to Millcorn Yellow from Honey with 2-3 Valfruit. I got back to Honey yellow with a single Pineapple (wasn't expecting that). I wanted to push boundaries a bit, so I fed thirteen Pineapples with no change, and in the same feeding, then proceeded to give it 19 apples (I bought 20 and was planning on burning them all) and got a color change message (feather proc). So we'll see what Honey Yellow + 13 pineapples + 19 apples gets me in a few more hours. If I manage to get any undocumented colors, I'll work on finding a consistent way to get there. I have been terrible bad about doing this in a methodical manner, but I might get something to pop out from it, and I need to work on taking notes too.

Finally got Soot Black. From Loam Brown, fed two berries and one pear to get proc. So glad it's over. lol

Okay guys, I need to tell you that the one proc method is over; no more waiting 6 hrs every time you get a new feather proc message.

I think that AttacKat's post may be correct. My previous experiment bounced me back to Millcorn yellow. SO I've done one more experiment to see if I can get a more yellowy yellow than Honey (OK, let's be honest, I want the word 'Gold'. :-P) so from millcorn I played with rotating through Pears, Apples, and Pineapples (Green up, Red up, Blue down), and I found it REALLY interesting that I started getting a color change proc after each fruit, so I don't know what I'm dancing between there. finished that off with a Pineapple, so I'll probably wind up back at Honey. FFFF00 is as yellow as you can get, and that set of fruit should get the choco as close to that as the game allows.

Yeah, you won't get more yellow then Honey, 255,199,39, or FFC727, the next closest is Millioncorn, 231, 159, 55 or E79F37.

I have my chocobo in Celeste green and i want to turn it in Storm Blue..Anyone who can help??I know about chocobo Calculator but if anyone can tell me how i split the fruits and if i must wait to see the message that it's going to change feathers or i just give him fruits splitted like Calculater says??I have problem on how many i must give him and when i must stop..If anyone can help pls!!
