Was gonna try nothing but apples but I quickly realized the red was maxed after a few and no color uses high red and low others for some reason. Been taking screenshots at each feathers message so I'll post logs at the end when I reach a desirable color.

Blood red to Dalamud red. I feel this one could have just been a few apples and then berries. Apparently just berries at this point goes purple


Seems to me that after sunset orange you need to start adding berries pretty soon to get any new feather messages. To cut down on apples you could probably feed 4 or so then berries. And I completely forgot to take screenshots for the last 2 but what I used is recorded accurately.

Wait... are people getting Plums confused with Pears? Most people are seeing Sylph Green as the 1 step with plums from Desert Yellow. A couple have mentioned getting Cream Yellow, but now I see someone say they got Cream Yellow with Pears.

I'd like to add my findings from over the past week. Was working toward Rolanberry

This is a result from Lilac purple, I'll add the fruit used for it but at the time I was unaware of the the feather changes until afterwards (15 berries, 8 apple, 8 pears)

Aftwards I made note of every feather change made

I can Confirm the Blood Red to Regal Purple loop. Just happened to me for the second time this morning as i am now back to purple

I would maybe try adding a few pineapples to reduce blue values.

I recently just got my experimental bird from Blood Red > Dalamud Red, but I had started the process with only Apples, and then 3 berries with 1 new feather message got me to Dalamud.

And from other information I've seen, there is another red color (Rolanberry Red) between Dalamud Red and Regal Purple that you can get if you were to use berries on Dalamud Red, or apples on Regal Purple.

8th stage Finished.

Started as Rolanberry Red, Fed 1 Berries and received "New Feathers" message, end result.... Regal Purple. ugh.

My Old Post has been updated with this. I will be starting next stage immediately. Going to continue with Berries, see if I hit this loop other people have. Hope I get something different than the loop since I'm coming from the maxed red side.

Current Color: Royal blue (34/42/96)

I'm trying to get soot black. So far I've been feeding a lot of berries and some pears/apples and got royal blue.

I fed 25 berries, 7 pears and 7 apples now but still didn't get a message that the feathers will change. Is this because the R/G values can't decrease any further? Or am I missing something?

I'm thinking about feeding pineapples to decrease blue and increasing red/green to get them around the same level and then decrease all three values equally.
