I did the same feed to u, but different phases.
Starting color: Desert Yellow (Resetted the color by using 1 Han Lemon. The Chocobo will reset immediately).
Chocobo Rank: [7]
Stables: Good
Feed: 5x Doman Plum
Messages:
1st Feed - “Chocobo devours the Doman Plum. Chocobo's plumage will change in 6 hours.”
2nd Feed - “Chocobo devours the Doman Plum.”
3rd Feed - “Chocobo devours the Doman Plum.”
4th Feed - “Chocobo devours the Doman Plum.”
5th Feed - “Chocobo devours the Doman Plum. Chocobo is beginning to grow new feathers!”
Result: Sylph Green

I'm starting to think it depends on what fruit you start with and then it adjusts along that scale... Once I have my fruit I'm going to try feeding apples (darken red) first and see if that doesn't get me where I need to go.

To clarify saying darken red fruit - get message - okay we're on the red scale, (feathers message) darken the red, (feathers message) darken the red, (feathers message) darken the red - lighten green fruit - okay lets take some green from that red - (feathers message) lighten the green, (feathers message) lighten the green, (feathers message) lighten the green - darken blue fruit - okay lets add some blue to that red - (feathers message) darken the blue, (feathers message) darken the blue, (feathers message) darken the blue - result

I hope that makes sense.

I put a post on reddit linking this thread. hopefully we can get volunteers to only use 1 fruit so we can try to see how each fruit actually works.

So i have only used pineapples at this point.

1st feeding was 10 - "featers changing" Changed to Honey Yellow
2nd was 19 - No message except "devoured fruit" no change
3rd feeding 15ish - Same as above. no message no change.

6 Mamook Pears fed. grows new feathers after 6th pear
6 Xelphatol Apples fed. grows new feathers after 6th apple
3 O'Ghomoro Berries fed. grows new feathers after 3rd berry

Building off my previous post where I was trying to get Turquoise Green I wasted a lot of food discovering that Sky Blue is the stopping point for Doman Plums or that after 32 feeds the RNG hates me and still won't activate a message about growing new feathers.

Raptor Blue (START)
--> Fed 7 Pineapples (1 new feathers)

-->2 Pineapple (1 msg)

WITHDREW FROM STABLE

After feeding 32 plums I abandoned that attempt, withdrawing the chocobo from the stable just to be certain that the food would have no effect on further testing, because it just didn't seem feasible to keep feeding food that may not be doing anything.

I'm still not really sure how to proceed towards my goal, but I think so long as I'm doing it blindly and recording all my steps someone will get some use out of it

I got Snow White after feeding just 15 Plums

What I did to get my snow white chocobo:
Permanent info: Rank 6, Attack and Healer Lvl 4, Lavender Bed Medium House Stables, N/A on weather

1st Feed- Color: Desert Yellow, Stable: Good
Feed 1 Doman Plum, thinking that its feed one at a time (I'm not a clever man)

Result: Desert Yellow
Next feed time: 7 hours later

2nd Feed- Color: Desert Yellow, Stable: Fair
Feed 4 Doman Plums until it said new feathers will grow.

Result: Slyph Green
Next feed time: 9 hours later

3rd Feed- Color: Slyph Green, Stable: Good
Feed 9 Doman Plums until it said new feathers will grow.

Result: Waited 21 hours later, Snow White
