Hubby's chicken:
Starting colour: Default desert yellow
First feeding: 5 Mamook pears - received message 'grows new feathers'

Second feeding: 10 Mamook pears - received message 'grows new feathers'

Dang. It appears that the apple progression is fairly predictable, but pears are random as heck.

Right now, my pear progression is: Desert Yellow --> Lime Green --> Honey Yellow --> Lime Green --> Apple Green

I really like this color, so I'm scared to do anything else to it. Thankfully, a guild mate has started on pears as well, and he'll want a darker green than I, so we'll see how his will turn out.

My results so far on chocobo dyeing (I just count the ones who gave the feather grow message):

Desert Yellow + 2 pears + 1 berry= Lime Green (tried that twice)

Lime Green + 1 apple = Desert Yellow

Lime Green + 1 apple + 13 berries = Ceruleum Blue
