The most annoying about Aurum Vale...

... is the number of people who kill the fruits and don't let them germinate. I understand if you had poor unfortunate luck to land that as a low-level roulette, or if you're a tank and just want the run over with, but if you're a sub-50 dps, and even a healer (I've sat around for 15 minutes once as a WHM), wouldn't you want to get the most exp out of your run as possible? And we're not talking a few thousand here and there from going into rooms. We're talking several tens of thousand of exp here. This is several fates worth of exp in just a couple minutes.

Ain't even that hard to do. Disturb the fruits, let them germinate, gather the seedlings, AOE, profit? Everyone seems to hate this place. Wouldn't the ideal thing to do is visit it as little as possible?

The real question is why are you doing full runs of Aurum Vale for EXP

I'd only ever be doing these for GC progression or books

Because I don't grind and grind and grind all day. I do other things in the game (Ixal dailies, daily hunts, gather, craft, leves, etc, etc, etc). So, I que and do things while I await. Dungeon pops, do it, then move on.

youre really supposed to kill them, they teach you one of the boss's mechanics as Dano said. if they're killing it before the seeds before they bloom, they're technically doing it right.

just ask them to let the seeds bloom/hatch.

Yeah, I just replied to him, but asking won't stop them from killing the fruits. Apparently, they don't like earning easy exp.

well i actually had this situation last night with my alt, no kidding. i partied with japanese people and they're killing the seeds before they bloom. i alt tabbed and google translated 'let seeds bloom' and told them "*translated text* {Please} {experience} {Thank you.}". they replied with "O K". was just saying asking might work.

uhh.... you are supposed to kill them before they germinate, thats indirectly teaching you the last boss's mechanic.

But everyone knows the mechanic so, why kill them when they pose little threat. There is not a massive morbol stacking poisons on you so there is no point to skip them when they yield such incredible exp for so little work. It's basically walking by an ATM machine malfunctioning and not picking any of the money it's spitting out.

Everyone except new players, which is where the problem is.
Ideally the EXP should be the other way around, with high EXP as a reward for performing the dungeon mechanics correctly, and low EXP for letting them spawn. If it was this way around, it would be fantastic for teaching. In fact, a lot more dungeons should do this, maybe people would learn a lot more from dungeons whilst leveling.
Shame this game caters to those that can't, rather than those that can.

Not everyone. Only sub-par players who doesn't give a sheet about any game mechanics and want play super-easy mode.

AV teaches a lot of things. Teachs what pull, when pull, where to pull, in what order to pull, what kill first and then what kill second, how to move, make attention on what a boss does, and when dodge his casts.

All the above, makes AV not suited for 80% of players, who eats all and any mechanic put there.

About the exp, it is so much good that you just do two or three run there to go 50. Germinate fruits yes gives more but it is a little compared to the zergload of exp you do even in a fast run, and quite not worth complaining.
