i think the any-spell-interrupt is annoying and does cater to casuals, however i don't think it needs changing really. it's definitely work-around-able (is that even a word?). are you aware that you only get interrupted if you take damage? meaning if you have Galvanize, Stoneskin and probably also Cover (i haven't tested it with a PLD to see but it should work) up on you, that you can't get interrupted until it falls off? i'm not aware what class you play, but as a SCH it is essential and first priority to keep Galvanize up not only on you but also on WHMs and other casters on your team so they can continue casting without interruption. and if for some reason you get caught with your pants down, you have Swiftcast+Galvanized/Stoneskin, Surecast and Equanimity to get it back up provided you don't get stunlocked. if your team is efficient, the enemy should be neutralized before you run through Swiftcast, Surecast and Equanimity tho. if not then your team was probably fail anyway and you should run to take another one of their bases before that inevitable wipe happens. don't be afraid to abandon your group. i do it all the time when i feel like the piss battle is taking wayyy too long.

    That is not a word ^ ^
If a paladin covers another person, that person becomes immune to melee hits until the effect wears off or the Paladin is defeated. Spell hits can still interrupt you, however, but melee will not.

As for my own opinion, I think the current system is good considering the GCD. It's just a very long process of adapting to every situation and having ideas already prepared (if the game starts and you immediately get focused and see the enemy use many cooldowns, what will you do first?). It will become much simpler for you to manage this way.

Guess im the minority on this issue

I don't know, I come from games that try to include everyone. This game seems to do that everywhere except for casters in pvp. I cant think of any other area this game has that doesn't try to cater to the casual player - just odd that they went this route I guess.

Time to level up a bard and pick on casters until others share my opinions! xD

You probably won't enjoy bard either with that mindset. Drg and mnk are bard's counter and I probably will see you post something about range potency penalty soon.

So by that line of thought, you would be ok with melee characters having all of their abilities shut down by physical damage too if we gave them something similar? I just dont see how locking casters out of casting most of the time is made ok by giving them cooldowns that can be used once every 1-3 minutes.

Nah, but hopefully more casters will come around Right now my objective is to win the match and support my friends. As a bard, my objective will be to frustrate enemy casters into not playing! Helps the team, and it brings light to this issue!

I have been playing WD as WHM since the release and FL, I am responding to your complaint about Casters. Having Sure cast, Swift cast and Equanimity is more then enough to be able to survive especially if you use them at the right time. Do i get interrupted? Yes I do but i deal with it... I don't just stand there like a dope on a rope taking a beat down. I put some distance between me and my attackers then pop presence + equanimity to be able to do what I have to do but I do get interrupted having popped Equanimity but its not all that often. If I have to use the other abilities I do ,and they are on CD for about the same as everyone else. Max out Equanimity. you should adapt just like the rest of us who have. I know other BLM who get the job done with those SAME abilities.

Its not about making anything easier, Hailie. Its about removing a mechanic that punishes players for choosing a specific role xD I enjoy a decent difficulty when playing a game. What I dont enjoy is a mechanic that allows other characters to cancel me out entirely in a certain section of the game.

I understand that we have cooldowns, and I do use them. The problem is, it only takes one bard to really knock us out of the fight. Barring that, any other class that has a gap closer or a ranged physical damage ability has an easy time with it as well. Oh, you popped a cooldown? Have fun being asleep, or stunned. Thats all it takes to burn your cooldown and make you worthless again.

I enjoy games that put everyone on roughly the same playing field. With casters having to pop cooldowns just to use their spells (ie, the only thing a caster is good for), it just doesnt seem like thats the case.
