Hello all, coming back from a long break (since just before 2.2.)
Just curious how all the DPS classes are stacking up, numbers wise, mainly DRG/MNK/SMN/BRD, as well most desired classes ATM.
Thanks in advance.

You mean how much dps they do or how many players play those jobs?
MNK got even better than it was, some people will prefer DRG if they have bards.
Most other jobs no different, T7 gave smn a different role as a kiter.
BLM got a buff that largely ignored the problems that needed to be addressed, so they're still pro @ dungeons and bad @ coil.
Just a general rundown of which melee is currently preferred, and how SMN stacks up. Doesn't necessarily have to be exact damage numbers in top end gear.
Alistaire kinda nailed it, was just looking for general info on DPS classes and changes since ive been gone.
DRG and MNK are pretty even imo, just depends what you like to play more. I prefer Drg as its more fun for me.
SMN is usually the top dps but also depends on the fight and how good they are at pet management etc.
BLM largely depends on the fight but can also be decent, but usually not the top DPS anymore.
Thanks for the replies.
Has anything changed with SMN rotations and pet management? Or do you still set Garuda to obey and manually cast Contagion for single target?
SMN can use ifrit on T6 and T8 for very slight increase in damage at the cost of higher skill required for MP management, probably the most verstile of all DPS as there is no bad fights for SMN, but lower highest DPS cap compared to MNK/BLM turreting.
If Mnk is not TP starved is on par with BLM in single target turreting
BLM is highest dps turreting, they can push 500 dps on T8.
DRG is just mnk but not as good, might be able to compare to mnk if there is 2 brd.
BRD you still need 1 in every party.
As for number full i110 with weapon on a low movement fight like T8
SMN 430, BLM 490, MNK 490, DRG 430, BRD 390
On a high movement/phase swap fight like T9
SMN 400, BLM 370, MNK 380, DRG 370, BRD 370

Wow, I give up on you if you actually believe this.SMN can use ifrit on T6 and T8 for very slight increase in damage at the cost of higher skill required for MP management, probably the most verstile of all DPS as there is no bad fights for SMN, but lower highest DPS cap compared to MNK/BLM turreting.

Blm is great in coil, sorry you can't play it well.MNK got even better than it was, some people will prefer DRG if they have bards.

Agreed. Although your SMN numbers could be higher if the smn had less movement needed, but most groups make the smn do towers in T8 as, well, they still keep damaging while moving :P. BLM is not always consistent, but for the most part can reach those numbers with skilled play.
I also maintain over 400dps in turn 7 with i106 monk. Unless of course shriek target.
