    Dramatic Mob Death

Currently when killing any mob all you really see if them fade out, i cant help but feel it could be more dramatic.

Instead of normal monsters just fading out they could instead turn into pyreflies like in FFX or something similar, just to jazz it up a little.

Big Bosses such as those found at the end of dungeons could take it a step further and scripted death scenes after being defeated, be it in a cutscene or just in /say once it dies... It'd be fun to see the enemy cry out that they're gonna come back and get you at some point or something of the like.

There is already death animations, what you want just adds lag to massive encounters.

Can be added as an "option".

That "Redout" thing that happened in FFVII when a mob died could be pretty cool, although it might become a bit intrusive with red flashing lights everytime a mob dies.

Or better yet, take a page from FFVI when bosses die.

    *Krakow* *Krakow*
    *rumble* *shake* *redout*

    Example

    Most epic boss deaths ever.

But seriously, something simple and non-intrusive could be kinda cool.

I think the more dramatic deaths definently would be appropriate for major bossfights and nm's, depending on type and setting something like FFX's soul thingy could work, i still want my redout though.... KCHHEEEEEEEWWWWW*flimmeringredness*

Just a little poof of smoke or something would do I think it's funny when so many people are anal about immersion with this game (maybe a byproduct of the stellar graphics) but don't seem to be phased by monster carcasses evaporating into thin air in front of them.
A mob outtro would be cool, but I don't know if its technically feasible for a MMO. Maybe just for big NM's or special fights.
And lol at the suggestion for an old school style fizzle form the bottom up. That would be really amusing, especially if the battle was against a cameo.

I would just like to give kudos to whichever person or persons over at SE came up with the entire pyrefly concept. It's probably one of the most brilliant strokes of rpg writing ever conceived.
I'm not a big fan over all of X, actually its pretty low on my list. But I can't help but respect that they found a graphically pleasing way to fade out kills, make an explanation as to why your particular team is fighting them in the first place, where the monsters generated from, and tie it all significantly into the overall story of the game. Most rpg's don't even bother to go so far as to give you any reason why you're battling at all from point A to B other than some ugly thing crossed your path and you all just so happen to be carrying swords.

It's just a shame that pyreflies didn't become one of the recycled elements in future additions to the series.

On the same note, FFXI's Aht Urhgan expansion had a nice story element to at least why there are beasts roaming about and probably should be put out of their misery. I guess I'm just really appreciative of details like that. Sorry to hijack your posts!

LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.
    (Marvelous economics IQ test!)

Ooh, what if mobs dissipated into aetherial vapors? That would fit, maybe?
