There was mass 90k yesterday (between 4 and 5 PM GMT) on all EU/NA servers, and then there was noticeable lag at least till the time I logged out (9 PM GMT), so it could be related.

The following issues have been addressed according to Square-Enix in the thread:
[NA] FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn Hotfixes (Aug. 21, 2014)
An issue in “Crystal Tower: Syrcus Tower” wherein ground-targeting actions such as Shadow Flare used in the Golden Sacristy could also cause damage to monsters on the floor above.
An issue wherein, if a currently held weekly elite mark bill that was accepted during a previous week had the same target as the current week’s elite mark bill, and the elite mark was slain, then the current week’s elite mark bill, even if it is still unaccepted, is also counted as being completed.
An issue wherein the graphics for the NPC “A-Ruhn-Senna” did not display properly during cutscenes.
Does that answer your question?^_^

A lot of weird 90k and lag in frontline as well.

Lol yeah that Amon glitch happened on our run too ... So funny xP

There was an bug that occurred. My chocobo was in the stable. I was in frontlines and I tried to ride my choco. And a message popped up saying that my chocobo was missing.

Tuesday I saw that happen, but not just with Amon, but with trash mobs.
Ragna suffered from some massive DC these 2 days.
Only if SE did a weekly maint like every other MMO they might have less issues and downtime during updates
