    SMN, Ramuh and his adds

    I was wondering how do other SMNs handle the adds. Normally I'd try and put dots on all the adds in a clockwise order (dots do around 330), but then by the time I get to the third add, I'd see the other dps still working on the first. I've also tried putting dots on one and ruin spamming till dead, but that doesn't help either. I was just in a learning party and we never got past the adds phase. We only ever managed to get all but two adds, even with LB. I volunteer as bait so my dps is usually the lowest in the party (going by threat meter).

    Abuse fester and if you put Garuda on her non auto attack mode (can't remember name) you can tell her when to use contagion which extends your dots so you could probably pull 2 festers off on one add. If you do do this make sure you have some aether stacks and aetherdam off cd so you can abuse fester more. That's what I did when I ran as my smn and I haven't had issues.

    Dots on whichever one your group starts on, garuda on it too, fester after bio
    Tab dots onto 2nd one. raging strikes or mega/X int if you have it, contagion, fester if you can
    tab dots on third one while boosted. If they don't have the first dead or near dead by the time you finish putting dots on the third the party's dps might be too slow. Or they just arent paying attention

    Garuda + fester clockwise with rest of group,

    Keep Dots up on the rest.

    Keep rouse spur enkindle for a burst damage on the adds. Shadowflare one of them.

    The adds phase has two kind of dps-race mechanics.
    One would be: Killing adds in time before Ramuh decides to cast Judgementbolt
    The other would be: Adds cast "increased sentence" on set intervals. This adds damage to judgementbolt. Unless your group is wiping because they're unable to kill all the adds in time, this is the most likely reason.

    Some would think Summoners would be godly during the adds phase. In a sense, yes. But with the second mechanic of the adds, too many summoners will actually wipe the group. You'd want to burst them down one by one as quickly as possible, rather than killing them together in a short time span. It's not rocket science to realise that 6 adds that uses increased sentence would give Ramuh more "stacks" than 5 adds (and so on).

    As a summoner, you'd want to throw DoTs on the first add, work on the second while festering the first. Also micro your pet that it attacks the add in order, rather than have it "do it's thing". Do keep casting DoTs on the adds, regardless of where the party is on. But save big burst abilities (Enkindle and Fester) for the add the group is on.

    Ifrit is better then garuda on this fight. Once add spawn you can just leave ifrit on the last add in the cycle and dot up the rest. Ifrit can attack out side of the water so its pretty safe.

    And no you should spend enkindle/fester on adds that are the furthest from the group to increase your dot tick time. You can either dot 1 add ahead of the group or just opposite direction (group clockwise you go counter clock wise). There is a trick to shadowflare 2 adds by pulling them into melee range.

    Thanks for the tips, everyone. Hopefully I can try them tonight. PF sucks on Diabolos (most is 10 at any one time). Dots and target garuda on what party is attacking, fester, raging strikes, dots on next one, shadow flare random one. Rouse/spur enkindle 3rd add party is attacking.

    u probably dont know melee can hit adds while staying out of the river cuz adds move up for melees, but hey what ever floats your boat.
