The current system where loot drops into a random players list is absurd. The rest of the party can't see the drops to even know if they want them. They are forced to go to the web and look the item up on a fansite such as ffxiv pro. Then if a player decides they wish to take the drop the exchange has to occur in CLOSE proximity or the item pass from 1 loot list to another fails. We have no way to do a /random so I as a linkshell leader am forced to flip a coin in real life to handle disputes. All of this has to happen on the fly while in the heat of battle.
[dev1005] - the log needs to be much more visible for all members of the party to see what dropped.
Simple short term QUICK FIX are to make the color of loot drops in the log much more visible. To have loot drops displayed to ALL party members regardless of proximity to the chest/mob/kill/player. Implement a /random dice roll feature.
Long term fix: create a single Community loot pool for all (rare/ex/non-tradable) gear drops, players can all view the items in this list. Allow each member of the party to /roll on loot in this central loot list. Allow the leader to set a quartermaster option to auto distribute loot.
