    Important Ability Advice? (Warrior)

    So I'm returning to Warrior after a huge break and I have forgotten the class.

    I want to add a couple abilities to my additional bar that alert me when something important has proced or is off CD

    Like how I have it for my Blm where Fire III and thunder III are on the right and left they flash so I don't miss a proc.

    [IMG][/IMG]

    Which abilities would you add in those 4-6 spaces at the sides to remind when something important is available? thank you.

    <Hmm.>

    Holmgang? Brutal Swing? Thrill of Battle? <I don't know.>

    Some stuff I'd think is obvious enough based on flying text or whatever, like Mercy Stroke and Inner Beast.

    WAR doesn't have much to monitor in terms of your own, it's more about monitoring the debuff that you have applied on the target. Since WAR has no procs, you can use them to monitor your few defensive CDs and that's really about it. Best I can think of is to monitor your Inner Beast availability so you know when it's up and can use it as much as possible to mitigate damage instead of having the 5 stacks Wrath just sit there.

    Inner beast/Steel Cycle on the left, Unchained/Berserk on the right? *edited*

    Really you have no "procs". You could put something like Inner Beast (any of your "must have 5 stacks of wrath to use" abilities) there so your made aware when you are at 5 stacks and they are available to you. But unlike BLM just because you have 5 stacks doesn't mean you should immediately use 5 stacks.

    I do the same thing for BLM (and BRD.. I don't play WHM) but most classes don't have the random procs like BLMs do to keep track of. Really just BLM, WHM, and BRD.

    And MNK (Haymaker).

    But that's it. For reals.

    Since you're playing controller, I'd advise placing cooldowns that you use on a second XHB set so you can monitor them while on your main set, and use them as necessary. Also of course place Mercy Stroke there.

    Honestly, it's kind of hard to know without knowing the rest of the bar set up. Brutal Swing's important, but when I play with a gamepad, that's one of the skills that's always visible, and if it's a fight where I need it, I'm watching for its CD anyway. Since WAR doesn't have random procs like BLM, I think I'd put stuff on those slots that isn't always visible and that I want to use almost on cooldown. For me, defensive CDs are like... I'd better know about those without the extra prompting, because if something's coming up that's going to make me want to use one, I'll be checking which one to use. Offensive CDs or Bloodbath are not super crucial most of the time, so I wouldn't be thinking about them, and an extra reminder would actually help.

    So maybe Unchained, Berserk, IR, Bloodbath.

    That was fantastic. Loved the John Madden section lmao (believe it or not it actually helped me with some questions on WAR, I don't play it much end-game. Only in dungeons)
