Chat Channels?

What do you guys think about adding various chat channels to the game? Perhaps every zone, or just the main cities?

Channels like:

• General Channel

• Trade Channel

• Party Recruitment

• Linkshell Recruitment

It'd definately be easier for people to advertise their linkshells & partys etc.
I also think it'd be a good idea to have every major cities channels linked so its easier to recruit across the entire game.

On the other hand, it could end up turning into the idiotic spamfests you see in WoW's chat channels, which is not a pretty sight indeed.

What are peoples thoughts and opinions on this?
