    BURN IN

As of today I officially have a burn in or ghost image on my new samsung LCD tv (2013). It isn't to bad, I caught it before it was overwhelming. It is pretty much my hud that i can see all the time now no matter what I do. Because i caught it so soon i might be able to fix it and would like to know if there is anyway that this can be prevented using setting or something in game.

Ouch! that's too bad. SE really should have made settings that would make things like chat window and hot bars fade away after a set amount of time with no activity.

LCD's do not develop burn in.

Both plasma-type and LCD-type displays exhibit a similar phenomenon called transient image persistence, which is sometimes confused with screen burn but is not permanent. In the case of plasma-type displays, transient image persistence is caused by charge build-up in the pixel cells (not cumulative luminance degradation as with burn-in), which can be seen sometimes when a bright image that was set against a dark background is replaced by a dark background only; this image retention is usually released once a typical-brightness image is displayed and does not inhibit the display's typical viewing image quality.

There are websites that will do screen cycles over and over again to clear up ghosting or other issues like that. You can probably google them to find one, but if you are epileptic you might want to be careful because these do usually make the screen flicker quite rapidly to 'reset' it.
