What we are talking about is the hardware capabilities, not the online services, also PSN had a complete overhaul of its infrastructure from the hack which takes a long time to completly replace and reconfigure hardware that can handle 11 million users.
We are talking about the contant lockups when the 360 has to load and render hundreds of models
See here if you need more proof then you can just google xbox besieged, this was on ffxi.
And lets not forget that the ps3's specs are superior to 360 in every way
I'm just stopping people from bashing a great console. We are talking about the contant lockups when the 360 has to load and render hundreds of models

I'm not trying to bash the 360, im just giving valid arguments to say that it could impede development of ffxiv, look at ffxi, almost everything the community wants added like new zones, more inventory, new mobs etc, all come with the reply "this would not be viable because of PS2 limitations" this would happen with FFXIV in 360 alot faster than ps3 because of the differance in specs, again im not trying to bash 360 these are just the facts
I'm not gonna touch on the 360 version because i really think that it's extremely unlikely.
As for the PS3 version. I cant wait. My wife and i decided to play this game because we could play together without buying a second PC. The postponement has made it so that she rarely plays.
The only negatives i can see about the console launch is waiting for it. OH! and ps3 updates. Updating any game now for that console takes forever, installing FFXIV could take days.
I'm glad it isn't being released on the xbox. [Comment deleted by moderator] xbox wants to make you pay not only for the sub of the game but also for xbox gold at the same time.

It's that bad to you? Must I bring up the issue with it not going offline for 2 months? Plus xbox gets updates to the online capabilities like party chat over different games and chat period. PS3 doesn't even have that yet and that worries me. I like to chat over different games. They need to catch up.

The offline fiasco is in the past Riser. There's no reason to worry about it anymore. It's that bad to you? Must I bring up the issue with it not going offline for 2 months? Plus xbox gets updates to the online capabilities like party chat over different games and chat period. PS3 doesn't even have that yet and that worries me. I like to chat over different games. Having to pay for two subscriptions is a legitimate complaint due to the waste of money that would easily be circumvented by any of the other versions. Party chat would be a nice feature, but it would only be useful to players that use the Xbox version. It's a fine console, but it's not really fit for this kind of game.
