I think it's safe to say the quality of XIV is slowly going to the right direction.

In the long run what seems to be an issue though is the low population of all servers especially when compared to other F2P MMOs.

Nobody seems to be supporting level-sync like features either but I guess that would make the game a bit more monotonous because sync parties tend to happen in select few places where xp rate is the highest.

I'm kinda hoping that the PS3 release will still happen and it will bring new players even more awesome would be that if they did the 360-port like they initially planned and maybe Wii U?

XIV has such an incredibly tiny playerbase that I really think it needs ALL the players it can possibly get. On different platforms I think it would have a good chance since there's almost no competition in the sector of console MMORPGs.

I know most of the people here must be PC players but would you buy or do you know people who would play XIV if it was released on consoles?

Personally I played XI always on XBOX360 because I don't consider myself as a PC player and it's more relaxing to play on a couch after a long day of working on the PC.

I'm getting it on the ps3 so i don't have to upgrade other pc every few years my gf would be playing on the ps3. I would not like it on the xbox due to it may limit the game more then the ps3.

Although the game wouldn't look as great on the 360 as it would on PC, it wouldn't hold back the PS3 and PC versions. Just like the PS2 version didn't hold back the PC and 360 version. I hope it gets released on the 360 because it only means more people to play with for everybody. Hell, I hope it gets released on the Wii U for this reason.

The reason they have only used reskinned zones since WotG, reskinned mobs, work arounds for extra inventory and more is because of PS2 memory limitations, the PS2 is holding back FFXI, and the most inferior console, which would be 360 if its released on it, will start to hold FFXIV back, the time frame depends on which consoles its released on.

I'm going to buy it on the ps3 too but I really like the 360 chatpad more than the ps3 one so I'd rather play it on that if possible. I wouldn't mind the graphical downgrade if there was any.

XI looks way better on the PC than on the 360 but I still prefer the console version because I can just let myself fall into a vegetative state on the couch with a controller. Many PC players are very snobbish about the use of a keyboard but honestly I'm never going to be that good of a player when the knowledge of tens of shortcuts is going to benefit me.

I would buy it for ps3 also, for the same reasons as above, its just more relaxing. Even though chatting could become an issue. I have looked at the chatpad, but i think i need some time to adjust to it if i were to use it all the time.

But I also think that if they would release the game next month for consoles it would be closed within the next 6 months after. Its just not that good compared to all the other games. This whole "grinding another million points for fun" does not sound very appealling to console players i think.

Don't get me wrong, i want it on ps3 also. But making the effort to release is on multiple platform "right now" is probably whats going to destroy it.

From what I heard Microsoft allowed XI on XBL silver because it was still new and they wanted people to see what XBL could do, and what better way than with a MMO.

But yeah its because Microsoft want a cut of all subscription fees from 14 to have it on xbox and SE will not give in to puny Microsoft

Actually this is only part of the issue, the other part is that Microsoft doesn't want any game on the 360 able to interact with any players from the PS3 version of that multiplatform game. this is why Portal 2 only works on PS3 and PC for cross platform and the 360 players are stuck playing by themselves.

This is only a example on why M$ does not allow ps3 and xbox to play together.
