I just don't understand why Microsoft is so against it all of a sudden. It works well for FF XI, doesn't it?While I love my xbox 360 and some of my Microsoft contacts, I don't believe FF14 would be profitable for SE or MS if released on the 360.
There are some "hurdles" that has prevented games like Borderlands, Call of Duty, Assassins Creed, and other multi platform games from playing cross platform. 360 would sooner have separate servers for FF14.
Not to mention most of them are ports.
every game multiplataform in xbox360 looks better that ps3The psn was only down for 20something days wasnt it? where does riser get 2 months?
The PS3 is where this game belongs. Xbox live has far too many hurdles for se to jump through, the least of which is the subscription. Anyone who is going to be playing this on their xbox is probably already shelling out the cash for XBLgold anyhow. But did any of you play XI on the 360. Anytime you had an update, you were forced to question whether or not it'd force you to reinstall the entire game.
The 360 is simply not cross platform friendly.
sincerely mmorpg playing better in pc that console, the reason you cant uses ventrilo or teamspeak on console
same reason that wow never go to console
aaah console puts limitations, ffxi have this problems for ps2, never receive upgrade grafics
Indeed. They also like to bitch about "version parity".
The version of Final Fantasy XIII that we got was butchered pretty badly, because Microsoft insisted that the PS3 version be exactly the same as the 360 version. So a lot was cut out of the game, because the 360 simply couldn't handle everything SE wanted to do with the game. For example, the option to hear the Japanese voice track.
Would be nice for it to come out on the xbox as well the more players the better I say. As for the PS3 version I will be picking that up when it is out.

Honestly I don't understand how anybody could be against porting XIV.
The more players the better I say. The game is improving but the players that left aren't coming back at the same rate and most will never return.
The console players are a large group that could fill the empty world of Eorzea and I personally don't care what console or controller they're using as long as I can play with them.
Graphically the game needs to be optimized anyway to work on more PCs so I don't see why that work can't be used to make console ports as well. Porting a game really isn't as massive project as these forum posts would have you believe and bigger companies use tools that automate a lot of the process. In smaller companies there's usually 1 to 3 guys working on porting the game to multiple platforms.
In the long run subscriptions could easily cover the cost of porting the game and let's remember that work would benefit all the players because it's contributing to the quality of the game for all of us.
I own all the consoles and I don't get why people are so close minded they bicker what's the best one. Honestly they all have their pros and cons. It's stupid to pay so much attention to what the ports graphics would be like. When you play an MMO the graphics are one of the least important parts of the entire experience since after a few hours you become completely blind to them and view them just as symbols to the objects within the game world.
I'm more in favor of keeping it as a PS3 exclusive for this generation, but having a FFXI-360 style port to the next generation consoles Sony and Microsoft come out with. I doubt this will work well with Wii U. It's pretty late in the console life cycle anyway, so this would be a good move to keep the game relevant, so it probably won't be coming out for PS3 in the immediate future.
