Multiple Console Ports!!!

PS3 version is gonna come, "at all costs", so don't worry =)

I'm doubtful with the Xbox 360 port, not because of the game, but for the service. I don't know if Microsoft will ask Square Enix to insert the Final Fantasy XIV service into the Gold or the Silver subscription. It'd be a pain in the ass for the players if they choose the Gold one, so you have to pay Gold and also the FFXIV subscription, which would suck.
If they could use PlayOnline, which runs into Silver subscription, then we would only pay the FFXIV fee.

About Wii U, I hope they're thinking about it because that's f*cking awesome!

If the PS3 chatpad is that annoying(and it looks like it would be), you can just use a USB keyboard. I'm sure a wireless one would be compatible with the system by now if they weren't already.

I would personally love to see a 360 version of the game, as that would guarantee that a bunch of my friends would play the game, but at the same time, MS's Xbox Live policy not only restricts FFXIV(or any other cross platform/region MMO) from being on the system in the first place, but as other posters have mentioned, the 360 version of FFXI constantly got the shaft due to it as well.

Wii U definitely seems like a good way to grab more subscribers(assuming the system takes off as well as Nintendo's hoping), but I worry that Nintendo still hasn't figured out how to get on the internet.

XI is an exceptional console MMO, but I feel consoles give SE too much reason to say "Insert console here" limitations. That's not to say of course that I don't think there shouldn't be a console version.

Microsoft has changed their policies. This game would have to support live-chat and in the past, have kept separate servers for many cross platform games. I honestly don't know why Final Fantasy 11 is the exception to this practice.

I don't think the console market outside of Japan is too keen on accepting monthly subscriptions for one game. The train of thought that I've seen is "I already paid for the game, I have to pay after 30 days? I don't have to do that for game X, Y, or Z."

And while you don't have to explain subscription fees to me, this seemed rampid in FF fans when 11 came out (hard drive withheld) and presented itself with Dc Universe.

Speaking of chat support, is there a way to get that xbox chat pad to work on pc?

Microsoft wouldn't go for it because of (previously stated) desire for gold subscription and hating cross-platform play. That's on Microsoft, nothing wrong with the 360.

I have a 360, that being said I'd probably buy a PS3 for FFXIV since it's cheaper than upgrading my computer at the moment. Sure I can play XIV fine on my PC but it could be better, plus it's another excuse to finally get a PS3 lol. Been putting that one off way too long >.>

The point is though, I doubt we'll ever see a 360 port. For reasons of Microsoft as well as development time/costs. This game would need to reach a highly profitable state before they could consider another port.

I will most definitely be getting it for ps3 I have it for PC but since my computer isn't a beast it runs it decent enough to be enjoyable but I'd rather not spend the money upgrading
my PC. Does anyone know if we will be able to use our same account we use for PC on ps3 or will we just have to start fresh?

Please, NO 360 port. That console is outdated garbage, and the PC and PS3 versions will suffer if we have to deal with the limitations of that piece of junk.
