    Questionable decisions on patch 2.35

I think a few of these recent changes have been a bit disappointing..

    Materia:
Level 70 - 90 gear is no longer guaranteed to convert into level IV materia. There was already a shortage of level IV materia, I don't see how this is going to help anyone.

Primal Weapons can be exchanged for GC Seals:
Now everyone will be rolling on weapons they didn't previously have any interest in, to exchange them for seals. This will effectively make it harder for people levelling desynthesis to grab the weapons they're looking for, and lessen the already small supply of Demimateria (i.e. the level 95 gear will be even more expensive to make). Wouldn't it have been better to make these fights reward you with a small amount of GC seals instead?

    Hunting:
I'm not sure if making B ranks effectively worthless (for most of the week) was the best fix. Now we have 17 fewer targets to hunt for, but just as many people looking, making the rush of people going after every A rank even worse.

The rate of SB for materia was increased by apparently a good amount, if your fighting the right level monsters. So I assume its to offset that technical increase; although I'm sure SE is always glad for more gil sinks (if the price does indeed go higher cause of this) until stuff like Gold Saucer comes out.

I can't comment to much desynthesis but I can see how that would be greatly annoying. The small bit of time I put into it so far, it seems really chancy and clunky as is, let alone having to fight for the item first.

The hunts were a double edged sword. The people who were in LS's and such constantly farming did lose some overall seals/tomes, but those who go at a more casual rate were given the chance to do so. Also 274 seals a week isn't that bad considering not much effort has to be put into it, as for tomes, they should try to match the reward into DR now for it.

Actually, you need to put in quite some time to get the 274 seals per week (way more than hunting for A mobs for the same amount), considering you need to camp two fates every day.

    Edit:
And I like how you need to hunt to buy the new seeds for chocobo coloring and how hunting is now the most efficient way to grind company seals (well, maybe farming fates is still faster). "FF14: A Realm Hunting"...

Sho86 except materia is not a gil sink, it's trade between players. The gil might eventually end up in a gil sink such as a house or something else though. The way I see it they just want more of a grind.

    Biggest annoyance:
Chocobo dyeing being dependent on having a FC House/Stable (and requiring gardening + 6 hour waiting periods, just because)

It makes sense - Every single final fantasy game with colored chocobos that also has a raising/breeding aspect (VII, IX, XI) tied it to a content system - At present time, Chocobo 'raising' is tied to Free Companies and FC housing, so it makes 100% sense that it's 'gated' behind it. The only issue, they didn't bring in chocobo breeding to make it make even more logical sense.

Wrong again, this makes no logical sense.

VII and IX are single player game which means that no players were restricted from raising/breeding their chocobo and XI, while a MMO, didn't prevent you from raising a Chocobo if you were not in a Linkshell. As it is right now, some people can't train their chocobos because of a requirement that is unnecessary.

Since every single reply to me you've made is: "NO U!", you forgot to read:

tied it to a content system
XI's was a separate CONTENT SYSTEM, the Chocobo breeding/Raising was its own entity. So why would it require a Linkshell when it already had it's own system and Linkshells did nothing in that game other than being a form of communication? In XIV, it requires FC because the Chocobo Raising is Tied to Free Company Housing/Stables.

So until they move Chocobo Raising/Breeding onto it's own system like they did in FFVII, IX and XI, it's really hard to state it makes no sense when it actually does - you just dislike their choice, which is fine, but it does make sense given that changing your chocobo's color would generally come from some form of raising..and if it's through vegetables, the only gardening system in FFXIV is Free Company housing based.

So unless you can point me into the direction of our personal houses or even personal mog garden....

You get company seals for hunts? Besides the few daily hunts that are FATE mobs?

No. But if you really want to farm seals, you can just trade in the myth gear that you could get extremly cheap from hunting.

Edit: And yes, it was an exaggeration(I think, didn't do the math), but it is still funny how you can hunt for everything you need and how they keep encouraging people to hunt with this patch. Makes me wonder what the future will bring...
