FFXIV backpacks?

Is it just me, or do the backpacks we've seen on characters in both the FMV video, and some general concept art look incredibly cool?

lol I know it would be weird for every single player to have one of those back packs, but maybe some kind of limit or restriction to wearing them would benefit that.

They kind of give off this look and appearance we don't see in average MMO's and being that players are adventures with no real home, being out in the world/wild and what not it would match the world really nicely.

IDK, but they are definitely cool looking none the less. ^^

BTW I forgot to mention the use of the backpacks could basically generate higher inventory space, and maybe some other cool benefits like, preset armor setups so players don't have to change gear manually all slow and what not.


You guys could always come up with some really cool stuff for them ^^

I liked them too, especially after seeing them in the concept art and video! Would be nice if it became an actual item to equip that allowed increased inventory space. And gives us an option to display them on or off much like helmets (I believe Yoshi-P mentioned this would also be coming up?).

What are some more benefits to the backpacks we can think of??

I would still like my weapon to display on my back still even if I have the backpack on. We see this with a few characters walking by in the FMV.

Besides all the benefits I really think it captures the look of the world, especially the concept art we were given far before the release of the game. =]

Honestly I would be happy if they added a Backpack/Cape slot on the inventory/gear slots. Of course its one or the other, not both at the same time. (im sure those Gatherers would be happy with the backpack while some of us fashionistas would like to rather have a cape!).

Hey, good thinking. Only being able to equip one or the other gives even more individuality amongst the player base.
