    New idea for trade craft/ gathering dungeon.

    We all know how dull leveling a field craft and tradecraft skill can be, 30+ hours of grinding can get tiring on the soul. I think that something like “Crafters Dungeons” should be implemented into the game.
    Allow me to give you my thoughts on how this would play out:
    Picture yourself and 3 others in a maze needing to work together to get out. Gathers of both botany and mining will have to stealth through mobs of monsters using their “lay of the land” skills to locate specific nodes, and then mine them hoping to get a specific material. They will then need to run those items to the a special crafting table where, from there, the trade crafters will need to use what is gathered and required to make some sort of key, explosive, etc. to move onto the next room.
    The idea is that it will get harder and harder as you progress taking you to new levels. Strategy will be needed by all parties to: avoid mobs, figure out puzzles to create keys, and find hard-to-locate nodes.

    This type of dungeon can be ongoing and start you from the lowest level where there you will be able to progress to the point where everyone is not a high enough level to continue- which at that point a “turn in” button will be on the “Duty” page and you will receive XP based on how far, and quickly you progressed.
    This overall would increase the fun of gathering/crafting and make it something you can do with friends- An interactive puzzle where everyone must work together to achieve max XP.
    … This is still just a theory and something that can obviously be tweaked but it would be fun!

    More ways to level crafters and gatherers sounds fun! Specially since mechanics wise they are hard to make more interesting without changing the mini-games.

    Always wanted to see monsters of the gatherers type being fought by them, just for the giggles. Could make funny Botanist vs Treant dungeons/trials, Miners vs Golems, Fishers vs fish.. I imagine gathering certain items would cause damage, others debuffs, and stuns. (There are a number of gathering slot options, so you could have a basic battle system with ~7-8 "gather-able abilities" working with your double up, % increase, HQ % up abilities.). Example-ish:
    Stun is 20% gather, use 50% boost would be mega useful if boss will cast a special spell, or if you need more GP perhaps gathering the 100% basic would be your GP generator, use your double item count abilities to use an ability twice, HQ for a more powerful version of whichever spell.

    I think you could make end game content using gatherers and crafters like a -better- hamlet too. A raid for all classes of Eorzea.

    (Battle classes would protect the gatherers, have bombs drop that have to be picked up and carried away- gatherers attempting to max both points, quantities and item types, crafters upgrading the players, npcs, and outpost).

    Sounds similar to hamlet def back in 1.0. With gatherers doing actual gathering.

    I've thought of this kind of idea before too, even specifics for challenges in the dungeon... but I doubt it will get added, as great as it would be.

    Personally I'd like to see an expanded version of Hamlet brought back. After all, we now have building materials we can craft so why not implement those into the mix? Buildings could be lost or damaged, requiring crafters to help repair the town or build guard towers to help in the town defense. Botanists and Fishers could supply the troops with food for the fight, while miners provide stone for fortifications and rebuilding.

    It could have its own reward system too, with the DoW earning points for combat while the DoL/DoH earn points for getting the town ready for battle. And, of course, no reason why you couldn't do both for a little extra. Points could then be exchanged for unique glamor gear, and possibly rare materials such as the elusive dress cloth or blue fox hide.

    Maybe I'm just nostalgic for 1.0's days of crafting bliss, but it would make us more relevant without breaking the bank by giving us access to endgame crafting.

    Very good indeed to add dungeons with rare drops only in there.

    Since they love the 4-man approach, we could also have the Trinity with only one type of gatherer at a time, defending him while he's getting the mats, making sure he's not into AoE's while you fight.

    If they would introduce a 4th type of gatherer along the way, then that could be a real nice party, everyone's invisible all the way lol

    Mayhap they'll read us ^^
