The Cell processor in the PS3 was actually a fantastically powerful CPU. Sony's original idea what that everything would run on it, including graphics but the only problems was... no one knew how to program it to take full advantage. Oops! In the end the PS3 was a very impressive piece of technology but software development wasn't mature enough to fully take advantage of it. This cost Sony a lot of money. This is why current consoles use old proven PC tech.

Never had any issue with my PS4 or the $25 wireless keyboard I bought for it. I didn't buy a PS4 to play with a keyboard, I have a PC for that. I just use it for typing and see no lag on it. The only time I see lag with the game its because of the internet not the console. I'll see the connection meter on my laptop drop and thats when I will see slight chop on the game.

Anyway, not here to say the PS4 is bad as playing Need for Speed on it and its awesome and being able to hook up to a large TV with surround sound is a major bonus. I just wanted to be able to play on both systems. When heavy playing mode, want my PC but when light load, wanted to sit and just chat and play light load on my PS4.

Its understandable that PS4 is cheaper than a PC. As for Load times, I was simply compared default options to PC. Upgrading to a SSD is obviously going to be as fast or faster but that a additional cost also. Anyway, still going to enjoy both.

Didn't mean to offend any of the Console system owners

omg. Didn't realize this would set off a big spark. So my intention was not to say one is better than the other. I just wanted to post for those that were thinking about going from a PC to a PS4 or use both so they know the differences. I did have a higher expectation from the PS4 in regards to a keyboard. Again that is a personal choice. Many like the controller and honestly the controller is great and no problems but I like to chat a lot in these online games and a controller is just not good for that. But even if I use the controller and use the keyboard for typing, half the time it skips letters and again probably depends on how fast one types.

I play on PC and PS4. Got it on ps4 just the other week because my pc tends to overheat easily and I get very uncomfortable sitting at a desk for long periods (back issues), so now I have the ps4 set up next to my bed and it plays great. There is only minimal choppy graphics, and it's only in things like CT/ST. Im already used to playing with a gamepad and it really works great in 14. I get annoyed trying to use keyboard but I think thats because the particular one I have for ps4 has some extra buttons Im not used to being there.

I had it on ps3 too, but the game works so much better on ps4. Really it feels about the same as PC aside from some situations with a lot of people and effects going off. Load times dont feel all THAT much longer on ps4 like they did on ps3, and I dont really lag either.

Just a side note- you CAN hook a PC to a tv and play using a controller. In fact, PS4 controllers can be synced with some PCs, and of course they make Xbox 360 controllers for PC that I personally have used and work great.

I actually use my PC on my 55" whenever I feel like playing on my recliner. It's just like being on console, but with all the perks of the PC!

This is the only way to go I think for a PC. Ever since I got my 52" flat screen and I hooked up the PC to it, I'll never go back to that little monitor. Though I don't play this game on the PC. I mainly use it for games that the console could never run the game the way the PC does.

Ps4 with a keyboard for typing. And I find I play better than most pc players so there is that. I much prefer a console as I do not have the money to invest in a awesome computer so I would rather just play my console. That and I enjoy the exclusives.

Well, remote play via Vita kinda trumps any minor performance advantage the PC may have for me. Nothing like being able to log in and take care of business on the go.

Wait... what are people arguing about again?

Just as an FYI, I have the PS4 version of Final Fantasy XIV as well as the PC version. I usually choose to play the PC version more often for a few reasons. Firstly, my kids are more likely to be watching TV, so using the PC means they can keep enjoying their toons. Secondly, having a keyboard I can use effectively makes chatting to people a lot easier. Thirdly, more space for my lovely skill icons.

I don't understand why people are arguing that one is better than the other for other arbitrary reasons. People who are claiming the PC version is 'uglier' clearly haven't actually played the PC version, or are doing so on a rubbish PC because it's actually a bit nicer. People who are claiming the PS4 version is 'ugly' clearly haven't played that either, since it really isn't. The difference really is marginal, but on PC at least I can see more of the action before it starts hiding characters.

    Live and let live, guys.
