I ve done a fortran program that find the optimal type and number of fruit.
Sometime it give an reduced number of fruit compared to what I found in this thread, or in others sources. Sometimes it doesn't, because I need a large number of sample (>1Billion) to find the best combination.
If you want I can try to give you some path. This would be useful to benchmark my code
It work well with very large gap between the original RGB and the final one. If the difference is small you can do it yourself easily by using the google spreadsheet.
You can also made minor adjustement after I give you the results, because like someone said a couple a fruit cancel out and I didn't implement that yet in the program.
This is totally based on the RGB theory, so it may not be 100% accurate.
For example my result for total number of fruit needed to go from Original color to Hunter green is 69 whereas we found 72 on https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...view?sle=true#

I've been stuck on a loop between Regal and Plum Purple for like 4 changes now, currently on Regal. How the heck do I get to Gloom Purple?
And how do you propose to achieve that, when we have results like this?
Meadow Green (143,159,103) -> 4 apples, 2 plums, 12 berries (-10:-14:-10) -> Raptor Blue (95, 135, 199)
RGB delta = +48, +24, -96
How does that fit into the -10:-14:-10 (-5:-7:-5) ratio using the calculator when the actual result is 2:1:-4?
I have been trying to get Lotus Pink ... I went from Snow White to Colibri Pink Any Idea how I can get Lotus from Colibri?
I'm at Marsh Green, and I did what i've seen several people have had success with (2 berries and 1 apple) to get to black each had the feathers message, however now that the 6hours are over I didn't get a change no cutscene either etc. Any other ideas of what I should feed?
Ive been trying to get Snow White but keep bouncing between Colibri Pink and Ice Blue. Currently its Colibri Pink.
Meadow Green, (143, 159, 103)
add 4 apples, 2 plums, 12 berries to get
93, 89, 153
and have the color picker decide that (93, 89, 153) = Raptor Blue
not to mention that you didn't start at 143, 159, 103. You started at one of the some two hundred thousand colors within the meadow green color space.
Simple, you try to make the "To Target" numbers as small as possible in order to aim for the "center" of the target color space. If you're aiming for the center of the color space, it gives you the most room for error caused by RNG and an uncertain starting point. "Current Guess" should be ignored entirely.
Advanced users can then further adjust by guessing where they are in their current color space based on what colors they've been to. But this is a little more complicated.

White should be pretty easy because it appears to be on the red color axis.
Start over by feeding your chocobo a lemon to reset it to Desert Yellow. Feed it only plums until you get a feather change message and you should get sylph green. Feed it plums again until you get a message. This should turn it show white. I believe this has worked for others pretty consistently.
