This is the process I used to achieve Snow White:

Feed #1 - Honey Yellow

• Cieldalaes Pineapple x3

Result = Honey Yellow

* It took 3 Pineapples before the "Grows New Feathers" message appeared.


Feed #2 - Cream Yellow

• Doman Plum x4

Result = Cream Yellow

* The "Feathers" message either triggered at 3 or 4 Plums. I didn't write this "Feather" trigger down so unfortunately I don't know exactly which but I'm 98.5% sure it was at 4.


Feed # 3 - Snow White

• Doman Plum x7
• Valfruit x10

Result = Snow White

* Fed 1 Doman Plum and got no "Feathers" message. Switched to feeding 10 Valfruit (each had the "Feathers" message) and then the remaining 6 Doman Plums (each plum triggered the "Feathers" message).


Total Fruits Used

3 Cieldalaes Pineapple, 11 Doman Plum, 10 Valefruit


*Note: Stable quality was "Poor" for all feedings.

Aiming for Snow White.. Followed the advice of a previous poster and did:
15 Doman Plum
6 Cieldalaes Pineapple
12 Valfruit

I made sure to note the number of times I got the "new feathers" message on each step however.
11/15 Doman Plum
6/6 Cieldalaes Pineapple
12/12 Valfruit

I gave my Bo 1 of the plums until I had gone through 15 plums, then 6 pineapples one at a time, then 12 valfruit one at a time. I'll update in 5 hours 30 minutes as to what I get.. XD

I've been slowly feeding my chocobo O'ghomoro Berries until I got a single "new feathers" message, results so far:

Desert Yellow > Cork Brown > Ul Brown > Gobbiebag Brown

Starting Color                = Desert Yellow   (216, 175,  80) 
+3 O'ghomoro Berries, 3 total = Cork Brown      (197, 139,  79) 
+1 O'ghomoro Berries, 4 total = Ul Brown        (178, 157, 105)
+3 O'ghomoro Berries, 7 total = Gobbiebag Brown (180, 158, 130)
+2 O'ghomoro Berries, 9 total - ???             (???, ???, ???)

I'll keep updating here as I progress.

Do you remember how many "new feathers" messages you got? This is the colour I would like for my Chocobo, but only the number of fruits has proven unreliable.

I've got a spreadsheet set up, but need data. A lot of it.
If you've been keeping an exact tally on the fruits used that got the growing feathers message, please send the information at this google docs form.
Trying to make sure this data is as clear as possible, since right now it's kind of a mess.

Feel free to just send chat logs of feeding time if you're confused by the instructions or you see something odd happen, like no longer receiving the feather message. This can help us find the caps of the fruit and such.

I'll be going back and trying to find posts that have stated that they're only counting the grow feathers message, but it could take some time. Thanks to anyone who can help!

I fed mine in two sessions, but I'd imagine you could do it all in one shot and get the same result. Here's what I did:

• O'Gho Berry x 5 >> Ul Brown
• Doman Plum x8, O'Gho Berry x6

And I pretty much landed on the exact colour I wanted! Here it is, Sky Blue:
