Here's my log, and my counts of new feathers.

Well I tried this exact combination and feeding with all the same feather "proc" messages and ended up with a snow white bird....Too bad I was going for Lilac Pink.

Just did this using the same number of so and so grows new feathers and ended up with Snow White. Any idea how to get back to the lotus pink because I really want that color?

I got Lotus Pink from Snow White by feeding one Valfruit.

This is my findings so far. This testing will be done with ONLY O'ghomoro Berries. (For all of my tests stables were in good condition.)

With my choco in Desert yellow, I fed my choco 1 O'Ghomoro Berry and waited 6 hours. There was no change. Nor a message.

On my next attempt I fed him 25 O'ghomoro berries. The "Feathers changed color" message appeared 23 times. The resulting color was Othard Blue.
This so far is a total of 26 total berries fed for what its worth.

On my third round of feeding I gave Kyoji 5 more berries until I got the message "Feathers changed color" again. The result this time was Royal Blue.
This is a total of 31 berries at this point.

I will now once again feed until i get another message to see if there is even another that will happen. The end goal I'm looking to achieve is Void Blue.
I will post results tonight or tomorrow.

Edit: I fed my choco another 12 Berries and still no change. I would appear that Royal blue is the cap if I feed nothing but berries. Or if this is RNG I have gotten unlucky. Will try to start feeding Mamook Pears next.

So far I'm lucky, almost every single of the fruit i used had effect, I'll see the result of the second feeding (14 doman plum) in a few minutes

it would make sense to base the changing greys off this information thus far to determine soot black.

Every time I begin feeding my bird, after the first fruit there is 4-5 minutes that pass where I cannot get the "new feathers" message. Then I get it consistently after that as long as I feed once per minute.

11/15 Doman Plum's resulted in the "new feathers" message
6/6 Cieldalaes Pineapples resulted in the "new feathers" message
12/12 Valfruit Resulted in the "new feathers" message
Stable: Good

I didn't mix with the order of feeding fruits, just one at a time of the 15 Plums until I was out, then one at a time of the 6 Pineapples, then one at a time of the 12 Valfruit.

Okay, what i think someone should do, is attempt this, but only with the amount of "new feather" messages. For example:

Feed enough Doman Plums to get 11 new feather messages
Feed enough Ciel Pineapple to get 6 new feather messages
Feed enough Valfruit to get 12 new feather messages

And see if that also gets you snow white. If it does, then that will be confirmation that it is the number of messages for the fruit, and not the amount of fruit, that make the difference. And then we can figure out if that is too many, and how many "messages" are actually needed to get Snow White.

Think thats something to start with?
