I meant to get four new feather messages for the Plum first but overlooked it and went back and added two more

in my stable that was good condition i had a person get the message with one and two with three so stable conditions doesn't seem to matter as i can tell post a few pages back says hoe at certain time you can add colors and it doesn't say plumage will change so it must be when it says this that you aquire a new color. it seems to be alot like the custom font RGB thing you can get many colors with different number it may be that people are going over color limit and going back down to like 22 and stuff or that they are getting 1,1,1,1 so they are to low

Yeah but did they start from the same color? If possible I'd try resetting it to the baseline and testing the same fruit for Good/Fair conditions to see if there's any difference.

that's what im doing now i have 6 people so far with different numbers of red and yes it seems that way tell we get a scale then we can do two colors then three colors.

Edit: From raptor blue feed it 10 Xelphatol apple ( got the message 8 times ) , 8 Mamook pear ( got message 8 times ) and accidentally feed 1 O'ghomoro berries ( with a message )
Note: Stable:fair Order of feeding : 7 apple (5 message) , 1 berry (with message), 7 pear (7 messages), 1 apple (with message), 1 pear (with message), 2 apple ( to equal messages to pear's )

Hopeful in a new spreadsheet being started, because the old one is just plain wrong. It's definitely based upon the new feathers message in regards to how many times it's fed. I followed the spreadsheet for raptor blue and got othard blue. Still a very nice looking blue! Anyway, in case a new spreadsheet is started which is based upon the amount of 'new feathers' messages were obtained, here is what I did.

I fed my chocobo 21 O'Ghomoro berries all in quick succession. I fed them all to my chocobo within 4 mins time. I didn't get a "new feathers" message until my 3rd feeding, and then I got the message for every single subsequent feeding, for a total of 19 "new feathers" messages. = Othard Blue.

No SS, I'm a console player and get on the forums while at work so a bit tough for me to post SS. I remembered the new feathers messages though, because I remember others posts' here yesterday about not seeing them like I did. I thought my chat log was glitched, but no.....19 consecutive new feathers messages.

I want white but thing's haven't gone as planned. My choco went from:

desert yellow > 21 berries > othard blue
othard blue > 30 pineapple (20 to to cancel above blue), 15 valfruit, 15 plum > cream yellow :S
cream yellow > 15 pineapple, 15 plum, 15 valfruit > ???

I'm really happy I screenshotted the time, food, and messages I got (wrote them out for this thread). I wonder if it's the number of "feathers" messages we should be counting with each fruit type. For example: To get Millioncorn Yellow, you need two "feathers" messages with the apples. Or it could be the "plumage" part. I'm not sure.

Thanks to everyone for sharing their chocobo dying experience! I wanted my bird to be a nice blue, so I fed him 21 O'Ghomoro Berries all in a row at one time (as documented in the Google spreadsheet).

I did not take a screen shot of the chat log. However, I did analyze it and after the feeding the third berry, I received the "...is beginning to grow new feathers!" message. Then I continued to receive that message after each additional berry going forward.

This morning I logged in and was delighted to discover my chocobo is now Othard Blue!
