Did some maths for the two colours created using only O'Ghomaro Berries (Deepen Blue) as it was a good constant from the spreadsheet. And all it does it makes working out the movement a lot harder.

First we have Gobbiebag Brown, created using 11 berries to get a total change of [-36,-17,+50] This means each feed was worth [-3.2, -1.5, 4.5]

Now we know there isn't a cap because the Raptor Blue has been created using 21 Berries for a total of [-132, -55, +108] Making each feed worth [-12, -5, 9.8]

So all of a sudden the food has become worth more as you add more in one go. Does this mean the more you put into one go the higher return you get from it?

I actually did this exact same math and came to the same conclusion. It doesn't add up. I think it might be more basic than adding/subtracting RGB values. I have a feeling that feeding a specific fruit sets you on the specific color scale of the dye that's currently in game. From there, further feeds raises or lowers your color on the same scale. I also have a feeling the color change doesn't take effect until you get a "starts to grow new feathers" message.

8 Berries resulted in the gobbiebag brown color. I originally posted it, and has miscounted what I had left in my inventory. I updated my post not a minute later, but apparently it never got corrected.

Quick we must return to the drawing board. Maths ahoy!

Okay that doesn't change how the results pan out all too much. There still isn't a common result between the two, I accidently only grew the berries and they shall be pickable in a few hours so i'll try 15 or 16 berries and see if we can determine a common rate of change

First we have Gobbiebag Brown, created using 8 berries to get a total change of [-36,-17,+50] This means each feed was worth [-4.5, -2.1, 6.2]

Raptor Blue has been created using 21 Berries for a total of [-132, -55, +108] Making each feed worth [-6.2, -2.6, 5.14]

Well this is not what I had in mind lol, hopefully when I get more blue fruits to grow, I can get it purple! (Shared the rest of my blues with FC mate). So here is Blood Red, took 14x Valfruit, 14x O'Ghomoro Berries, and 14x Xelphatol Apples in this order. I did 1 of each in a row till 14 had been used.

Try feeding him ~4 more Valfruit and 3 more Berries. You need to raise the blue.

Thanks for this! I'll definitely give it a try when more grows, I'm growing both of those right now.

Some of these results seem very odd. Has anyone tried replicating someone else's feed, but in a different order? I wonder if people are hitting some sort of cap, or there's some randomness involved.

I think we also need to consider whether people are taking those color samples from the "examine" window, or standing out in the sun, or in the dark. It's near impossible to determine actual RGB value results when there's not a common lighting arrangement.

One thing is obvious, the examine window looks nothing like the color when the bird is out in the sun, or at night either for that matter. Also, measuring it in the shade of a stables will produce a wholly different picture.

We really need to agree on a common lighting scenario, and preferably one not involving the examine window.

Science is king, yes, but we need controls to determine results.

I think the colour values were taken from the dye window as opposed to the chocobos themselves, this gives you a fairer idea of the RGB values of that colour as it is unaffected by light or shadow.
