Chocobo dyeing R&D Thread - Post your results here!

I'm stuck on Apple and Celeste green. I keep looping... any advice to get to Cactuar or Hunter green?

From memory I think I fed mine a heap of pears to go from Celeste Green to Apple Green (sorry it's been a long time since that step and I didn't write it down, I think I just dumped a dozen or so into) From there with the calculator and the colour chart I fed it enough to go Cactuar Green.

Hunter Green was a little... weird. I was trying to get to Nophica Green so I fed it enough to go from Cactuar Green to Turquoise Green. Now for probably 4-5 days straight I used the calculator and the spreadsheet to try and get Nophica Green but every answer they both gave me just made the Chocobo go Hunter Green and then loop back and forth.

If anyone wants the Nophica Green I ended up making the Hunter Green deliberately go Shadow Blue and then from there finally got it to go Nophica Green.

I'm currently at Plum Purple which is around RGB 114-75-101 and trying to get to Abyssal Blue 43-39-80. How should I proceed from here on out? Don't wanna reset everything once again or get stuck in a loop so I could use some little help ^

Before my friend got Morbol Green, she had Hunter Green. I've found the calculator after I made that post, so she did feed him 1x Pear and 5x Apple and actually got back to Hunter Green.

EDIT: She just told me, that she read someone got Soot Black after feeding 2 Berries and 3 Apples. She will try it with that combo now.

Does anyone know if these calculators are looking for the feather message for every fruit to count? For instance if it says use 5 pears would you need to see 5 feather messages?

It's the fruit count. However due to the way the fruits work its with a few caveats. Sometimes the message may come early, sometimes late. My path through shadow blue said it wanted two of one particular fruit. I fed it three before I got the message then gave it another for good measure and got the message again. If it says lots of fruit you're better off to take it in stages. Get one colour, then the next, the next rather then just trying to skip ahead a heap of colours.

Makes sense, I'm not sure how to even get close to Cactuar green though. xD The calculator says feed 8 apples, 9 pears and 11 berries. hmm.
