I got Dalamund Red just now by just feeding apples. Sunset Orange >> Blood red >> Dalamund Red.
Keep in mind that are RNG involded though.

Ahh, what I'm talking. I feed him with berries, too. Sunset Orange -> Apples only -> Blood Red -> Berries only -> Dalamund Red.

Step 1:

• x3 Xelphatol Apple -> Millioncorn Yellow

Step 2:

• x8 Xelphatol Apple -> Pumpkin Orange

Step 3:

• x11 Xelphatol Apple -> Sunset Orange

Step 4:

• x9 Xelphatol Apple -> Blood Red

Step 5:

• x6 O'Ghomoro Berries -> Dalamud Red

Step 6:

• x15 O'Ghomoro Berries -> Regal Purple

Step 7:

• x10 Doman Plum -> Royal Blue

Step 8:

• x1 Cieldalaes Pineapple -> Gloom Purple

Where do I go from if I have a Midnight Blue-chocobo and want a Soot Black? =/

I need some help reaching soot black, I've been using the colour calculator but I've been in a loop of deepwood green, kobold/chestnut brown for days. I managed to break out of that and got marsh green but now after feeding it what I should have to get me soot black it's currant purple!
What should I do? I'm at my wits end.

Anyway, because I know people tend to get stuck in the Deepwood/Ink/Kobold loop, I suggest this:

If you go through those colors and end up at Kobold Brown, try giving your Chocobo 2x Plums. There are some who can get to Soot Black with one but I've noticed those stuck in the loop just continue the cycle that way. The first plum might not bring up a proc but as long as the second one does you should be good (that's how it worked for me at least)

I hate to jump in at this late in the game, but I must ask ...

Some of you kept on telling others EXACTLY how many fruits you should feed to get to the next color ...

My question is: just HOW you came up with these EXACT fruits to feed? Please show proof WHY the recommended numbers will do exactly that kind of color adjustment to the base color.
