well so far I have been trying to move towards Morbol green and seem to have got to slate grey.

My chocobo was at Pumpkin orange (I fed it some random stuff)

From there using only O'Ghomoro Berries until it said "growing new feathers"

Coral Pink
Plum Purple
Regal Purple

From here I used only Mamook Pears until "new feathers" It went back to Plum Purple and now I am at Slate Grey.

Aiming towards Turquoise Green. Not sure what to feed it next..





Edit: I have fed it 3 Doman plums and got "new feathers" Will report back in the morning on what colour it is...

Trying to get Soot black, and I'm currently at regal purple! Any advice ?! :S

I was wondering if anyone could offer any insight on how to get out of this annoying loop I'm stuck in.

I'm aiming for Iris Purple, however I'm stuck between Lavender Purple and Colibri Pink. My feeding sessions look something like this:

LAVENDER PURPLE
>> Feed one / two berries OR pears
** New feathers message **
>> Result: Colibri Pink

COLIBRI PINK
>> Feed one / two fruits OR pineapples
** New feathers message **
>> Result: Lavender Purple

I've been stopping as soon as I get the new feathers message and have only been feeding single types of feed (i.e, not berries AND pears - mainly because I'm getting the new feathers message after 1 feed).

This is driving me crazy and costing me a small fortune. Can anyone help me get out of this cycle?

Got the Iris Purple myself finally. My last feed was a pear to take it from colibri pink back a step (following the chart). So in total it was:

Desert yellow -> Domam Plum x1 message -> Sylph Green -> Domam plum x1 message ->Snow White -> Domam plum x1 message -> Ice Blue -> Valfruit x1 message -> Colibri Pink -> Pear x1 message -> Ice Blue -> Valfruit x1 message -> Colibri Pink -> Pear x1 message -> Iris purple.

The fruit certainly have some kind of HQ properties (as in they can give either a normal amount of their color increase/decrease or in an HQ it can skip a color phase or multiple, from my testing). For reference it was 6 hours inbetween each feed. I stopped feeding the specific fruit once I got a feather message at each feed.

feed 1st attempt. ignore all msg's/stable good condition
berry x5, pear x5, apple x5 >> got "Cork Brown" (197,139,79)

feed 2nd attempt. ignore all msg's/stable good condition
berry x6, pear x6, apple x5 >> got "Halatali Yellow" (159,125,42)

feed 3rd attempt. ignore all msg's/stable good condition
berry x8, pear x6, apple x6 >> got "Opo-opo Brown" (116,85,39)

feed 4th attempt. ignore all msg's/stable good condition
apple x10, pear x6, berry x2 >> got "Orchard Brown" (93,59,18)

feed 5th attempt. ignore all msg's/stable good condition
apple x6, pear x3, berry x0 >> got "Mesa Red" (127,63,7)

feed 6th attempt. ignore all msg's/stable good condition
apple x4, pear x5, berry x5 >> got "Dalamud Red" (113,22,22)

feed 7th attempt. ignore all msg's/stable good condition
plum x5 >> got "Russet Brown" (72,39,26)

feed 8th attempt. ignore all msg's/stable good condition
plum x2 >> got "Charcoal Grey" (65,64,59)

Argh. So much for Kobold Brown. Just as I thought I was getting somewhere when I finally managed to reach Midnight Blue, it did a 180 on me (for the fifth time now) and bumped me back to Abyssal Blue. It feels like no matter how far I get here, I always get caught in some kind of loop and it's really getting annoying :|

Hmm... Kind of a weird question but ingame, my friend has a lavender PURPLE chocobo. The guides all list lavender BLUE. Is this an error on SE's part because it's just slightly confusing. XD; I'm trying to help him get Soot Black.

I finally got black now, too... after doing circles with Kobold Brown, Ink Blue and Grape Purple.
From Grape Purple 2 apples, 4 pears and 1 berry did the trick. all did proc feather changes.

Alright, STILL trying to get soot black.

I'm sitting at morbol green right now. I followed this chart (https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/18...661/vBZmlD.png) to get from currant purple trying to get to marsh green, but I had to feed 4x pears to get the feather messaging, so I had a feeling I'd overshoot it a little, and I was right.

Does anyone have any advice on how to get to soot black from morbol green? I feel like I'm so close here.
