Hi, my silly chocobo is caught in the Regal Purple - Dalamud Red loop. I want Rolanberry Red and not having ANY luck getting it.

Any advice?

Try:
berry 3
pear 2

Don't count procs, just fruits, the last one at least needs to proc to confirm guessed color.

Should that be from Dalamud Red or from Regal Purple? He's sitting at Dalamud Red right now.. again.. Thank you in advance for your help!

A small stretch should get you there. Try:

berry 9
apple 7
pear 8

Let us know. Count total fruits, not procs. But last should always be a proc to confirm jump to specified color.

You're still too dark and away from the range. Gonna need many valfruits, plums and pineapples, to lighten it all up consistently for now. Feed many but equal numbers of the three and come back with new color. I'll help you get there.
