I try to get apple green from lotus pink to ensure my theory & formula
Here is Feeding Method : Total Fruits : 27 Pear 18 Apple 13 Berry
Feeding Order : 8 Pear -> 5 Berry -> 5 Apple -> 5 Berry -> 9 Pear -> 10 Apple -> 3 Berry -> 3 Apple -> 10 Pear | feather proc message pop at 7th pear and everyfruits after this til empty.
The result i've got is Lime Green.this is interesting let's see ...
Result | Lime Green. : 166 171 77
Goal | Apple Green : 149 174 92
as you can see,the number of RESULT pretty close to GOAL but because its one big FEED so the number might be a bit off due to RNG of each comsumed fruit.Personally i'm not suggest anyone to do one big feed in any circumstances unless their theory's pretty solid.
PS. This is my own experiment to try on one big feed session and result is quite satisfy.and i want to say,you can skip a lot of color phase to get to the color you want IF you know what you're doing.

What is this calculator some people have mentioned? My chocobo's 6hrs should have finished by now but a few hours til I can go home and check if he's snow white yet. I'm thinking I'll start growing the fruits for my alt's chocobo next...maybe soot black

Found myself with a chestnut brown chocobo after feeding couple pears when he was a rolanberry red.

Impressive color you've got.if you aim to soot black i suggest :
1) 2 Plum 1 Berry 1 Val | this method will get you right to soot black or kobold brown or loam brown
2) 2 Plum 2 Berry | this method will get your RED close to GREEN but there's high chance that R<G and if that happen you will end up at Deepwood Green.
For Soot Black you're gonna need R>G>B and the numbers need to close to each other as much as possible around 37 35 30
For 1st method if you get kobold brown just feed 1 plum,for loam brown you need to feed 3 berry 2 pear 1 apple.

Decided to trim down the barding he wore just to show it off now.

Now its time to start on my alt getting a grey chocobo

Edit: Speaking of, lets say I want to get slate grey. I know that old spreadsheet isnt accurate, but someone got goobue grey apparently just feeding o'ghomoro berries. Can I get slate grey just feeding a whole bunch of berries and nothing else? My garden plot is limited, cant grow too many at once for a few days

Guys I started to feed my chocobo and this is my results:

Starting Color: DESERT YELLOW

1st Session:

• Xephatol Apple ( + Red ) : 5
• N° of Message "Growing New Feather" : 4

Result Color: MILLIONCORN YELLOW

2nd Session:

• Xephatol Apple ( + Red ) : 9
• N° of Message "Growing New Feather" : 1

Result Color: PUMPKIN ORANGE

3rd Session:

• Xephatol Apple ( + Red ) : 10
• N° of Message "Growing New Feather" : 1

Result Color: SUNSET ORANGE

4th Session:

• Xephatol Apple ( + Red ) : 11
• N° of Message "Growing New Feather" : 1

Result Color: BLOOD RED



Comment: If We take the RGB value we can see that from Desert Yellow to Blood Red ALL color are deeper.
I think that maybe the colours didn't work at RGB value but easier with just number of food and type.

Like my chocobo dyeing, I used ONLY apple that deep the red value, so of course, starting from a yellow we slowly get orange and after red, and notice even that the number of food given seems exponential, at least giving always the same fruit.

Last thing, seems the message "Growing New Feather" saying You are inside one colour and not stepping colour by colour (like my first session), and until You didn't receive the message You are still need food, probably for getting in one only session from Desert Yellow to Blood Red You have to read Grow Message Feather and don't read it for 4 times..

I was wondering if anyone could offer any insight on how to get out of this annoying loop I'm stuck in.

I'm aiming for Iris Purple, however I'm stuck between Lavender Purple and Colibri Pink. My feeding sessions look something like this:

LAVENDER PURPLE
>> Feed one / two berries OR pears
** New feathers message **
>> Result: Colibri Pink

COLIBRI PINK
>> Feed one / two fruits OR pineapples
** New feathers message **
>> Result: Lavender Purple

I've been stopping as soon as I get the new feathers message and have only been feeding single types of feed (i.e, not berries AND pears - mainly because I'm getting the new feathers message after 1 feed).

This is driving me crazy and costing me a small fortune. Can anyone help me get out of this cycle?

Try 4 plum 6 val 8 pine on Lavender | feed in this order : pine til empty , plum til empty , val til empty
Try 5 pear 3 berry on Colibri | feed in this order : pear til empty , berry til empty
At least should get you out of the loop or you might get Iris Purple you need.

Got the Iris Purple myself finally. My last feed was a pear to take it from colibri pink back a step (following the chart). So in total it was:

Desert yellow -> Domam Plum x1 message -> Sylph Green -> Domam plum x1 message ->Snow White -> Domam plum x1 message -> Ice Blue -> Valfruit x1 message -> Colibri Pink -> Pear x1 message -> Ice Blue -> Valfruit x1 message -> Colibri Pink -> Pear x1 message -> Iris purple.

The fruit certainly have some kind of HQ properties (as in they can give either a normal amount of their color increase/decrease or in an HQ it can skip a color phase or multiple, from my testing). For reference it was 6 hours inbetween each feed. I stopped feeding the specific fruit once I got a feather message at each feed.
