Ugh, marsh green Fed it the same thing as you did while currant purple

Someone had luck with Marsh Green.

"So from Marsh Green I got drunk and feed my choco 2berries each proced then 1 apple and it also proced to give me Ink Blue. I was then convinced by a friend to try and do Kobold Brown via 1 pineapple then try and get soot... I fed my Bucephalus who was Ink Blue 1 pineapple and it proced on the first feed and he became soot black. Thank you RNG? confused but happy since now my Bucephalus is the same color as Alexander the Greats horse Bucephalus! "

And I finally managed to get Iris Purple ^-^



I feel like Lotus Pink would've been a better choice to match my haircolor (and I already had that once ;_; ) but I wanted Iris Purple this whole time so I'm happy for now :3

For those wondering how I got there

If you manage to get to either Lavender Blue or Colibri Pink, feed it Pineapples until the new feather message pops up when starting at Lavender Blue or Mamook Pears when starting at Colibri Pink.

I switched back and forth between those colors a long time until I got Rose Pink suddenly, where I fed it Doman Plums until I got the new feather message and it switched back to Colibri Pink.

After that, it switched from Colibri Pink to Gobbiebag Brown and I had to feed it only one O'Ghomoro Berry from there (could be more for others until the message pops) to get to Iris Purple.

I think it's better if you only feed so much, until the new feather message pops up :3

I was Dalamud Red - Fed 7x Darken Red, 6x Darken Green, 6x Darken Blue
Went to gloom purple - Fed 8x Darken red and 2 Darken green while attempting to go for black.

Me and my fiancee just can't comprehend this system. Ended up with Wine red along with her and now we're lost as to what to do to reach Soot black.

From Kobold Brown, you have a few options. Either next use a single Doman Plum to attempt hitting Soot Black. Or, that'll redirect you to either Ink Blue or Deepwood Green. From Ink Blue, try x2 Pineapples, see if that works. Or, from Deepwood Green, try a Valfruit to reach Soot Black. If that doesn't work, come back and we'll what we can do with your RGB values.

My chocobo went back to Ink Blue after feeding it another valfruit at Deepwood Green. It's jumped to Ink Blue 4 times already...I fed it another pineapple, but I'm wondering if I should risk overshooting it by feeding it 2 messages worth of pineapples just in case one puts it at Deepwood Green again. x_X

Yes, I believe this is what you should do. I think you're too deep in to darks to get Soot. Maybe trying feed one of each lightener plus an extra Pineapple. So Pineapple, Plum, Valfruit, Pineapple.

So! I got Soot Black. I'll prob post a picture when I get home in a few hours.

I was part of the looper group, and what I did to get out of it was try to eliminate what I knew would be the problem. I thought about how we all fed so many Berries to get it to the lower color spectrum and how blue is probably the culprit. I at first tried Red, because well it made sense with a starting color of Yellow, that Red level would be higher. This didn't work, and the loop continued. I then remembered feeding it many berries and plums (more berries though) which would bring my Blue level higher more then likely, and my Red actually lower then I had previously thought. If you look at the charts, Blue is the lower end of Soot black, and obviously Ink blue has it a bit higher then the rest.

I figured at this point, it was actually Blue that was the culprit. I knew my reds were low as I had tried lowering them to no avail. So then it was time to try and bring up the other two evenly and get my blue under. x2 Pineapples did the trick for this (plume change x2), and now I'm a proud owner!

To those looping, I really don't believe in RNG in this system. Your color levels are probably just tilted in some form. Try to figure out which level of color is higher then the rest, even them out and raise them to Soot Black levels. SE rounds off colors to push you into a color tolerance IMO, and dipping above/below a range in certain numbers most likely pulls you out of certain pigments. Soot black's fairly even numbers probably just exacerbates this.

I really think this rounding is evident in how we are going from Ink Blue > Kobold Brown. The point swing doesn't make sense. I really wonder (especially since I got x2 Plume change messages with x2 pineapple) if I had used a Pineapple at Kobold Brown, if it would have put me at Soot Black. Numerically looking at Kobold Brown it doesn't make sense, but going from Ink Blue > Kobold from x1 Pineapple doesn't either. Something was off in the numbers, and for me it happened to be Blue.
