Fed my Deepwood Green chocobo one valfruit to end up with Ink Blue...again. Going to feed it another pineapple....

Yeah, I tried getting to Deepwood to try the Valfruit thing only to mess up and end up on Wine Red again. I guess it's not such a bad thing, I suppose considering I've heard you and 1-2 other guys have that same problem. Were you going for the the x2 Pineapple method on Ink Blue, like that one guy did a couple pages back to get Soot Black? If so, please let me know of your outcome. I'm actually heading back there after I get off Wine Red, again.

I'm not sure how to proceed. I havent got a plan for waht colour I actually want, just seeing what looks nice for now.

Decided to feed 5 Mamook pears and 5 Xelphatol Apples, each feed gave me a feather message..

Interesting, cause red should stay the same but the others two should change, which is what I was trying, but this proves the ballpark rule. I was checking and the variation couldn't land you any other color, but would still be in the range of ink blue or soot black, so my guess is that two nearly exact values supersede the close third.

Rant aside, thank you!! Will report back tomorrow morning, hopefully with the ink blue.

Trying to go from Colibri pink 217 149 198 to Lotus pink 254 202 244. Fed 8 Valfruit trying to get the "Feathers" message but did not get any. Then tried feeding 1 Berries. Still no message. How badly did I screw it up? Or is there any advice on my next step?

So after I tried the [O'Ghomoro Berry x3, Mamook Pear x1, Xelphatol Apple x1] recipe and got Cork Brown, I tried to correct the values with a Doman Plum and another Mamook Pear, but instead of getting me closer to Aldgoat Brown (which is my goal), I got reset back to Desert Yellow.

I tried again today with the same recipe of [O'Ghomoro Berry x3, Mamook Pear x1, Xelphatol Apple x1], this time feeding them in order and getting the new feathers message with each feed, I instead ended up with Ul Brown.

I got to Aldgoat Brown from UI Brown by using (and getting a message for) one of each darkening fruits. I don't remember the order of feeding, if it makes a difference.

Desert Yellow > Raptor Blue > Othard Blue > Regal Purple > Bark Brown > Soot Black.

I pretty much fed only berries, pears and apples so as to balance them out whilst decreasing all 3. At the end I used a plum.



Going by the same method I used from Bark Brown, I would suggest the following:

Berries x5
Pears x5
Apples x7
Plum x1

Make sure the stable is in Good condition. Start feeding berries until you see new feathers. From then on, count ONLY the fruits that resulted in new feathers towards the above recipe.

You should be feeding lighteners to increase all the colours. Try 5 each of plums, valfruits and pineapples.

If you haven't triggered any "feather's changing" messages yet you haven't managed to shift into a new dye range. If for example you gave your bird 1 more berry and it triggered your message your values (using a +/-5 integer, calculating in the fruits already fed, and the original RGB spreadsheet values) should roughly be around 247R, 99G, 248B. While the GREEN value is still really low, the RED and BLUE are in the Lotus pink range. If you trigger that message you might end up at Lotus Pink (based on how high your RED and BLUE is); however you may end up needing to do more tweaking.

I would suggest trying 1 or 2 berries to see if you can trigger your "feather's message". If you trigger it after 1 then stop and wait the 6 hours to see what the result is.

It stayed Regal purple.

Gave him a pineapple and he went to dalamud red. Now gave him one apple and got the feather message. If this is wrong, let me know.
