Here's my frustrating journey to soot black so far: (started out with the numbers of the actual fruits fed, then at the line, switched to how many feather messages from each fruit)

1: 17 apple, 18 pear, 18 berry
-Bark Brown-
2: 10 apple, 10 pear, 15 berry
-Deepwood Green-
3: 5 apple, 6 pear
-Hunter Green-
4: 13 plum, 14 valfruit, 7 berry
-Royal Blue-
5: 5 apple, 5 pear
-Regal Purple-
6: 6 berrie, 5 pear
-Royal Blue-
7: 10 apple, 5 pear
-Rolanberry Red-
---------------------
8: 6 plum, 3 pear
-Nophica Green-
9: 2 valfruit
-Woad Blue-
10: 6 pineapple
-Mud Green-
11: 7 plum, 7 valfruit, 2 pineapple
-will find out in the morning-

The further I go the more I understand from reading this thread but I still want to pull my hair out! I've spent a fortune on fruits I just want my black choco TT TT

So I started at the default color and fed my chocobo 5 plums. This resulted in Sylph Green. Anyone have advice on what is the minimum I should do now to get to Snow White?

Edit: Got my white after 14 total plums. Only got a total of 2 "new feathers" messages. Default > Sylph Green > Snow White

I just got snow white today, doing 3 feeding sessions.

Desert Yellow -> Cream Yellow = 1 Plum
Cream Yellow -> Sylph Green = 1 Plum
Sylph Green -> Snow White = 7 Plums (on the seventh is when i got "growing new feathers" msg)

Just out of curiosity, if i wanted to, how would i go from Snow White to Charcoal Grey

I got there a very different way, but decreasing all colors equally (with equal feather procs?) will get you there eventually. Plums, Valfruit, Pineapple. Charcoal Gray has RGB values in the 70's, so just keep going until you get there. I used photoshop's rgb sliders to know what to tweak.

I noticed this oddity too. One of my FC people has "Lavender Purple" but if you look through all the dyes in the game, it doesn't exist, only a "Lavender Blue". I assume these are the same colors though.

I've got Honey Yellow (216/194/37). I want Dalamud Red(113/22/22). What do i need to get to Dal Red?

Im at Charcoal Grey and need some help. Does anyone know what i might need to feed my chocobo to get to Soot Black? Ive asked before and got no responces. Please help me out
