so i am stuck on royal blue, I have followed a few charts and instructions on my journey to get soot black (feed berries, pears, or apples, and finishing with pineapple) but I always end up with regal purple or back at royal blue . any advise or tips?

Try:
pineapple 3
apple 5
pear 4
berry 2

You're in a tough place, any variation I tried by adding or removing one of the above lands a different color. Whichever the case, it will bring you the closest and may be fixed next.
